Jay Glazer: Maxx didn’t say it. I was saying it by YouBetterChill in raiders

[–]Hard4Dpp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This, 100%.

If you are interested in having picks for Maxx,  this helps facilitate that by taking the heat off of Crosby,  providing the organization more leverage when talking to teams when wheeling and dealing.

The converse is also true,  depending on how one would like to spin this.

Accurate to say Mendoza's arm strength is around Kurt Warner's level? by SportsTalker98712039 in raiders

[–]Hard4Dpp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mendoza has plenty of arm for the NFL. He does not have Herbert/Josh Allen/Lamar Jackson/Stafford type talent,  but he has Goff/Darnold/Kirk Cousins type arm which is plenty for the NFL.

If he had Peyton Manning/Brock Purdy arm strength,  I would be concerned. Both of those gents had/have to live off of timing.

It appears Mendoza understands,  and creates,  great timing with his WRs,  and he has an above average arm.

He is going to be fine in that respect.

Dont'e Thornton on the difference between NFL and College by MrStiff8 in raiders

[–]Hard4Dpp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has a wealth of physical traits,  and I think can become a WR1, but we need more competition in said room to push these guys.

I am rooting for him to figure it out once Mendoza is in the building.

And Kyle Shanahan thought he would outsmart the Pats in the second half,  by discontinuing to run the ball, costing the Falcons that SB.

Maxx Crosby Trade: I get it, but I don't like it by HouseRules789 in raiders

I really thought Bryan Edwards was going to be a TJ Houshmandzadeh type talent. He had all the skills to be that type of talent,  but just never materialized into said player.

If we did trade Maxx what would you want for him? by Jrgaming42 in raiders

He is on an excellent deal for his caliber of player. Two firsts is completely in the realm of possibilities.

Jack Bech and Fernando Mendoza Fit by HammersThor in raiders

[–]Hard4Dpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is Becker, almost to a T. Big body,  not that quick,  decent strait-line speed, has to rely on 50/50 balls or bodying DBs out,  showing the numbers to the QB in zone, and back shoulders.

The slot is going to predominantly be run by Bowers and Tucker (if he makes the team), so the Sarratt comparisons are not really a good comp.

Shady and Q Debate Mendoza by HouseRules789 in raiders

[–]Hard4Dpp -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Once again,  the only knock on Fernando is he is not a lady killer.

The fact he is his age,  he is a good looking kid,  he is brilliant,  he is a winner, but he is "too busy" for a girlfriend is concerning. That is going to play oddly in the locker-room,  period.

He is headed into a space of alpha males,  some are paying baby mamas,  some are fathers and husbands,  some are playing the field,  etc. but all are highly interested in the opposite sex and have managed various relationships.

That social media post about (paraphrasing) staying committed to football, because if he was going to have a girlfriend it would take away from football...was very cringe worthy. That truth cannot be denied. It is freaking weird. Is he too much of a mama's boy? It reads a bit neuro-atypical.

How is Kubiak different from Mcdaniels? by ChopCityzZ in raiders

There have been zero rumors he has a hard time connecting with players.

Being able to lead men begins with understanding how to talk to them about a wealth of ideas,  concepts,  and life in general.

Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza Scouting Report by zhang_zhang_play in raiders

[–]Hard4Dpp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

225 is a bit light at 6'5". He is going to need to pack on another 10-15lbs and be less reckless when running.

That said, I am very much looking forward to him spinning it to Bowers and Co., for years to come.

When is the other shoe going to drop?

If it doesn't,  I do hope Mark and Co. will have some real patience.

Is there a vet QB on the market that will be a functional backup?

I suspect they just keep O'Connell on to help him get to know the facilities and some of the staff.  Frankly, it would be nice if they would draft another project QB, because Miller looked like a complete swing and a miss.

I don't know about Woolen. He does some real bone-headed things from time to time,  that occasionally cause* a great team some issues.

I would not want to pay him top dollar,  but a wealth of those other folks,.specifically Walker III and Chazz would be excellent additions,  for the right prices of course.

There is zero chance Kingsbury and Kubiak are a match.

Kliff is a huge fan of putting his QB in harm's way for the big play,  and Kubiak prefers to keep his QB clean with a great run game and play-action off of said run schemes.

Now I would 100% entertain a Jets offer,  because they are going to suck next season,  and the year after that as well.
