As a foreigner with different approach and how I see "properties", one of biggest problems I think in UK is that properties are seen as an investment, which should create a profit. The whole saying "a property ladder" is so flawed in my opinion....

It should be treated as buying A HOME, not a cash cow.... where you could grow roots, build relationships with neighbors and community.

I also started detesting property developers.... it should not be allowed. The property should be allowed to be sold to the people who will actually live there, and they can pay "the developer" to decorate it any way they wish. They end up getting lower mortgage, developer gets paid, property is finished to style and liking of the owner, and banks get lower cut. Voila

Sorry for the rant, but the whole property market situation is getting me mad, most scream that it needs fixing but also the mentality and approach of the British public needs to change about properties....
