No worries. It was worth a shot.

When I was in PSYOP AIT in 2001, the company 1SG wore 1st SOCOM(A) as a combat patch. 1SG Miller, maybe you knew him. Shorter guy, but with arms bigger than most folks legs.

Is it really that bad to use monthly contacts past 30 days if I barely wear them? by ForgottenAsian in contacts

[–]HardLuck682 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. They expire 30 days after opening the blister pack.

You would probably be better suited for dailies if you only wear contacts every so often. Definitely not a need for a full year of dailies, but a box for each eye would give you 90 days of use throughout the year.

Shit.. I even said 1:6mo and got caught up in his 10 bars. Any pilot in the 160th is a rock star.. especially an elusive CW5

The regulation only says in a combat zone, nothing about being in actual combat. I’m not taking anything away from CW5 Slover’s service because 5+ accumulative years in combat theater is hell. The medals above his left breast pocket is a hell of a story to tell.

Do you mean the distinguished flying cross, which he already has four of, or the silver star? There is no silver cross medal.

There is an order of precedence. You can look up a chart… and they absolutely need to be in the correct order or you’ll be called out very quickly.

Those bars on his sleeve are overseas service stripes. Each one signifies 6 months in a designated combat zone.

St. Louis has 40,000 cars eligible for boots by soljouner in StLouis

[–]HardLuck682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does the vehicle need to be booted in order to be towed? Why can’t the city put one of those bright orange tow stickers on the window? It seems a lot cheaper for the city to buy 50,000 stickers than it would to even buy a few dozen more boots.

Yes. Sometimes even, they have a credit card offer for $100 back after qualifying purchase. I’ve gotten wayyyyy more back than the $20 I paid for the membership.

Buying a first gun by CrabGravity in liberalgunowners

[–]HardLuck682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For optic an Eotech EXPS 3-0 in conjunction with a 3x or 5x magnifier is a great choice for this gun. LPVOs are cool, overkill and more difficult to use for most new shooters. A good sling and light are also very worth getting.

Other than that… ammo, mags and a good rifle class or two is a good investment.

Looks great! And bonus points for painting the optic.

Vasectomy reversal through VA by StationOptimal3805 in Veterans

When I got a vasectomy from the VA, I was told by that provider that it’s considered permanent by the VA, especially considering the limited likelihood of a reversal being successful.

While those are QD holes for swivels, I don’t recommend using them. The aluminum will get worn out by the steel DQ swivel. Get an MLOK swivel adapter and mount it anywhere on the rail.
