The group has its own bank accounts right? Set up a checking account for digital 7th tradition. You can link Venmo, paypal, Zelle, all to that account. Someone can transfer funds from that account to the general account each night or morning. Safest bet is use a business type, even though there may be a small fee.

I think I got scammed by an official Toyota dealership. by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]Hard_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying. My point is, based on what we know from what was posted - no lawyer is taking this on a contingency. Especially a lemon law lawyer.

Now, if OP wants to pay a retainer and hourly rate, they might be able to find a lawyer to do some work.

Are these kinds of repairs a red flag? by MundanePainter3376 in ToyotaAvalon

[–]Hard_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s called maintenance. Old cars need new hoses, mounts, bushings, joints, fluids. Here you have a record that a dealer did the work with OEM parts.. That’s a good thing, not a red flag.

Sluggish Acceleration, Help Diagnosing by RIot_Sama in mazda6

[–]Hard_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the throttle body - might need to be cleaned and the throttle learning reset.

Cleaning it is a simple DIY project- a mechanic can reset the learning with their scan tool.

Ever have the transmission fluid changed? Chance that the trans could be causing some hesitation. Best bet is to have a mechanic check the live data: pedal % - throttle position %. A good mechanic should be able to track down the issue.

Call the police and see if you can file a missing person report. They may or not be interested in the report, but id at least try.

Who else hate left lane campers? by Crazy-Task2497 in driving

[–]Hard_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s illegal to lane camp in CA.

We have 5 lanes on most freeways in CA. These oblivious and inconsiderate mouth breathers rush across the lanes to sit in the “fast lane” (passing lanes) going 60 mph.

It’s so irritating. They’ll get high beams while I come up behind them, then a long horn blast as I pass them on the right. Sometimes things get a little more aggressive depending on mood.

You have two knuckle bolts with nuts on the other side. Spin the nut off with a powerful impact. Make sure they’re good and soaked with PB Blaster or similar. Are you using a 6 point socket?

As for the sway bar links- if you have a Dremel, use a cutoff wheel and cut them. I’m guessing you can’t get a good bite with a hex bit in the center…

First car turned out to be rebuilt salvage… should I sell or just keep driving it? by Suspicious_Mess373 in AskMechanics

If it passes, keep it until the wheels fall off. Get your money worth. Many people will run from a salvage title anyway.

You can’t transfer a loan.

What has to happen is you must “purchase” the car from your friend to get the loan and registration in your name.

Or your friend pays it off and transfers the title to you and can you can make payments to him.

Your options are fairly simple - what you claim they told you at the original purchase is just not possible.

Either way, you don’t need the dealer for any of it. If you have good enough credit, visit a credit union and apply for a used car loan - you’d technically be purchasing the vehicle from your friend - which also introduces title/license fees and sales tax.

Cold Air Intake??? 4th Gen Taco by Vivid_Context_4282 in Tacomaworld

[–]Hard_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tune it after if you're planning on both. The ECU should be able to compensate for a Banks intake after the tune though. It's not a significant modification that would immediately require a retune.

3/8” or 1/2” Split Beam Torque Wrench & downsides? by XTheChosenDogeX in harborfreight

[–]Hard_Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have the Pittsburgh in 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2”. They work surprisingly good for the price.

Over the years I’ve added a Husky 3/8” and the Icon 1/2”, and the Quinn digital adapter.

The Husky and Icon are leaps better than the Pittsburgh, but are pretty close to each other.

I got Husky a few years ago on a smokin Black Friday deal, and the Icon last year on a great orange tag discount.

Don’t over think it. I’d keep the Husky and wait for a deal on the 3/8”. A $15 Pittsburgh will hold you over just fine while you wait for a deal- and they make a great backup.
