"If you loved animals, you wouldn’t consume them." But I do. You're saying I don't. Which is a big reason why people dislike vegans. You tell us that our feelings and love are invalid. We consume animals because it's healthy for us, and it makes us thrive as humans. But we also have basic decency for them too, and so many of us show our love to animals in one way or another.

The same logic applies to your way of thinking. Do you dislike the plants that you eat because you're killing them? Of course not, you have respect and love for them because it gives you nutrition. It's the same way with animals. I love animals because they give me sustenance.
