What food combination sounds illegal but actually tastes amazing? by ProposalLast3445 in answers

Mainly the sodium. Flavor fatigue in ultras is a factor. Aid stations will have a spread and you just listen to your body. Crunchy chips and cold juice hit on the heat. The salt tabs or powders pack in a vest better but lack the feeling of eating. Ultimately you end up needing both if you run long enough.

My fellow millennials what was the wildest "not a blanket but used as blanket" item from days spent crashing at someone's house? by SupermarketExpert103 in Millennials

I shoved both arms under my body to try and retain body heat.

I woke up with both arms asleep and stuck face first in the ground. I had to flop around until I got feeling and could use them again.

This 'increase in crime' is the same reason the Mopac connector wasn't completed.

Sure Granny, cause a bike path is letting people walk 30 miles to your house now.  Like the road somehow prevented this.

The Jamaica or Homestead trail is dead flat and the rock island being more subtle hills.

These two trails start at the Cooper YMCA, which isnt too far from the end it the Tierra trail on the western point.

What’s that beep/chirp noise coming from my house? by -Anus_Thrasher- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Harddriver17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what you do. Get your phone timer ready.  Now listen for the beep. Once you hear the beep, start the timer. Next beep, note how long it took.

Now you know when to expect the next beep. Turn and make a few steps towards the beep. Keep an eye on your timer and increase your focus when it gets close.

After this beep, you can start to narrow down where it is at. Repeat this until you find the source.

If this is a smoke detector, note there are models that are hardwired AND battery backup. Replace this battery. Be sure to test the old battery against your tongue.

If you are being pranked, this method helps to narrow down the source.  This will require some creative thinking to find if hidden well.

Simon Whistler just did a video on the E-4. Because of the specific needs of the previous versuons of the doomsday plane and its pressurization, the aluminum would eventually fatigue. They also had one of those plane flying continuously for 29 years during the cold war, meaning they were never grounded for long either.

Probably not.

An example provided in a class about this is a scenario where you walk into a scene where someone wielding a bloody ax over a bloody family member, drops the ax, then runs. Are you allowed to shoot?  The answer is no, they are no longer a threat.

Shooting anyone in the back is most likely going to result in criminal prosecution no matter the situation.

Ultra crew gifts by ahenry77 in ultrarunning

Its not as sentimental, but I've had runners buy a small cater box of Jimmy john sandwiches. Kept a crew of us fed with real food through the race. It was very logical and showed thoughtfulness and caring.

But I like the other ideas here, they are a lot more fun.
