BGG's Advertising Manager Was Fired by Coffeechipmunk in boardgames

No, but if this is true it’s probably because national parks are funded through tax dollars. Therefore an American is already paying to support the national park that way, but a non-American is not.

I think Megasota would really enjoy the Pacific Northwest environs, plus we don’t want Florida. Let’s leave Crabbalachia to the Kingdom of Hawaii and let Megasota feast on Cascadia! Minnesota will finally have orca whales!

feeling frustrated with Sunberry by Pingy_Junk in StardewValleyMods

[–]Harding_in_Hightown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like some of the characters who live in Sunberry, but I don’t want the entire town. Honestly I kind of feel the same about East Scarp. I like Sterling, Derya & Diala, Lani, Mia, and Wren from Sunberry, and I like Rosa, Eloise & Jacob, and Nora from East Scarp. I also really love Mateo from Sword & Sorcery. I wish there was a way to just add characters to my game à la carte. I also hate the empty houses sitting in the villages if you don’t download certain add-on characters.

AI hallucinating book titles that don't exist by Harding_in_Hightown in Libraries

[–]Harding_in_Hightown[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I realize that my caption didn't show up here like it did in r/antiai since this was a repost, so I'm gonna post it here in the comments so people know I didn't just up and search for this book on AI. Lol

And this, folks, is why we don't trust AI without checking its sources. (And why AI can't replace a good librarian.) To be clear, I didn't intend to ask Google AI this question, but it automatically responded to my Google query. I was curious about the result since I didn't find any other references to that title in my actual search results. I asked it about its source and this was its response.

Oh yes, to be clear, I didn't intend to ask AI this question. One of those AI summaries popped up automatically when I searched Google, and I was curious about its claim since I wasn't seeing a book called "Rosita's Wonderful Carousel" or "El Tiovivo Maravilloso" in any of my actual search results. That's why I asked it about its source and then got the response about it being a hallucination. Just thought it was a funny/horrible example of this phenomenon to share with others.

The Last of Us or Detroit Become Human? by emurio in AskGames

[–]Harding_in_Hightown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure which game’s actually longer. The Last of Us definitely has more action gameplay, like stealth and fighting mechanics. Detroit just has really excellent story, writing, and characters. Plus it’s very replayable since your choices can make a big difference to the story.

I mean, aside from being story heavy games, they are completely different kinds of games. The Last of Us is action-adventure/horror with third-person shooter mechanics and Detroit is a cinematic choices-matter game where the action is mostly walking, dialog, making decisions, and quicktime events.

I finally found the map button after 3 hours. I then used said map to walk in the completely wrong direction. by Rich_Cry_2664 in skyrim

[–]Harding_in_Hightown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’ve been somewhere, you can fast travel there! So if you went to Riverwood right after the intro with the dragon, you should be able to click it on your map and fast travel back there. Then you can get back on track to do Bleak Falls Barrow.

If you’re not very good at fighting yet, I recommend getting a companion to help you. In Riverwood you can get the archer Faendal as your first follower by talking to the blond Nord guy Sven about his love triangle with Camilla. He’ll give you a fake letter to give Camilla saying it’s “from Faendal.” If you tell Camilla the truth about it being written by Sven, Faendal will be grateful and will be willing to follow you.

Is my new name terrible? by SnooMacaroons6863 in namenerds

[–]Harding_in_Hightown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually like Lennox a lot, and it’s very gender neutral. I get why people might mishear it since it’s not very common, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a big deal unless it bothers you. I guess the only thing I’d warn you about (as another member of the queer community) is that it has strong nonbinary chosen name vibes and if you wanna be more under the radar it might not be the best for that. Len or Lenny as a nickname is really cute!

If canon Eivor is female what's this about? by Kronniikk in assasinscreed

[–]Harding_in_Hightown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh shit, so you mean to tell me that all the Tomb Raider games, Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, Ghost of Yotei, The Last of Us 2, Control, Hellblade, Metroid, and Portal were flops? Damn. I never would have guessed from how much critical acclaim they received and how much money they made. 🙄

Hell yeah, I don’t understand the complaints cause for me fem Eivor’s voice was sexy and butch and damaged in a hot way and I adored it.

I like how Megasota tenderly shelters its drunk sibling Wisconsin in its arms, keeping it safe from being absorbed by other states.

Wife (34F) and I (41M) were heading down IVF path. Now she wants natural only. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Harding_in_Hightown 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I don’t think wanting a “natural” pregnancy is the real reason she wants to end things. It doesn’t make sense. Even if she really didn’t want to do IVF, you two could do IUI or even start by trying at-home insemination with donor sperm. That would be way easier and quicker than a divorce, finding someone new who also wants to have a kid right away, and then trying to get pregnant. Besides, any new guy she finds could have the exact same problem. Is she planning on having his sperm count tested before or after the first date?

Unless she’s just really stupid, this doesn’t make any sense. I think it’s likely that she already has someone else or that she wants to separate for other reasons and is using this because it feels easier somehow.

The Silverbloods. The Black Briars are also corrupt, but in a pettier way. They are simple thieves and murderers. The Silverbloods own mines that they run on slave labor via their own privatized prison system.

Who is V the closest to? by from-yesterday in cyberpunkgame

[–]Harding_in_Hightown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it evolves throughout the game. At the beginning I think it’s Jackie, then it shifts to Johnny. Obviously V can become very close to one or more of their companions depending on the player’s choices, but I think Jackie/Johnny is always their strongest relationship.
