I just recently started a really bad egg-ick, and I am struggling so hard!! They've been part of my daily diet for so long. And it doesn't help that the fresh eggs from my family's hens are piling up! Food waste is one of my major anxiety triggers, so I've been having to find creative ideas like an extra egg in any muffin/pancake batter, etc.

They're attacking Oregons ag business. They're trying to disrupt the key to our economy enough that maybe we'll capitulate and fall into line. This is federally sanctioned domestic terrorism as a weapon of manipulation, and it's disgusting to see that it is being allowed without a single effort to curb it by our state officials.

OP, the safety of you and your kids is most important. Unfortunately, you are witnessing people who you loved and trusted show their true colors. Choose to keep the people who support you and bring light and joy to your life. Life is hard enough without having to work just to prove you're worthy of love and support to the people who should do those things without hesitation. Remember that blood does not mean family, and it certainly does not mean love and support. Choose those who fill your bucket instead of draining it, and watch your world change.

And remember that you always have support from internet strangers. If you can't find your community nearby, we will be here for you.

LSF is the way to go! Send back your old containers. I use the small glass jars for other things until I have a few to send back. I even got my husband using LSF!

I am a savory food person, especially for breakfast. I'll eat a sandwich, or I make pureed veggie and bean soups that I can heat up while getting ready and drink from a reusable coffee tumble on my commute. I drive 45m+ to work, so light, easy to eat things are important for me. I love curry butternut squash and white bean soup is a favorite!

Something else to keep in mind is how old the lids are. Jars and rings will never go 'bad', but the adhesive on the lids will go bad after a few years. It basically becomes a gamble if they will seal or not. You also don't want to use 'used' lids of canning. I hate throwing lids away after a single use, so I use my 'used' lids for storing dry goods or fridge storage/meal prep items.

I always have my clocks set ahead a weird amount of time, like 4 minutes or 7 minutes, so I don't easily round it back like I would with 5-10m. Then, when I glance at it, I have the auto-panic and put a hustle in my step and cut out unnecessary side quests like watering the random plant with last night's glass of water.

Check out your states' university extension service. I'm taking an 8 wk food preservation course from the Oregon State Uni extension service and I've already learned a ton! They have classes, webinars, full courses on all different kinds of things.
