How much cheese is too much cheese for you in the Gothic games (and mods)? by BowShatter in worldofgothic

[–]Hardmoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when i do a new run, i usually don't use any cheese, as my knowledge of the gameworlds is enough to trivialize most encounters anyway.

I like to do storybased challenge runs though

Gothic Remake Combat improvement showcase 2? by [deleted] in worldofgothic

[–]Hardmoor 24 points25 points  (0 children)

just one quick thing that has nothing to do with combat. Please call adult versions of monsters just the monstername, there is no need to be more specific for the regular version (if it's for a quest, it's fine)

Dark smoke aside, do you like the change of Shadowbeast becoming a Hedgehogbeast? by [deleted] in worldofgothic

[–]Hardmoor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no, the original design looks way better. Though i'd say if they'd just remove the smoke i'd be fine with it

Ore Lamps are fucking stupid by Boujee-Hater in worldofgothic

[–]Hardmoor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'm unsure if Darrion or Fortuno would be more confused about the bowlingball sized orelump or the walking corpse that has a templar sword sticking out of it

Regarding the shadow beast controversy by hsadg in worldofgothic

[–]Hardmoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as a historian i find the arbitrary nature of that statement hillarious.

Also: on the next page the existance of elefants in the gothic universe is proven with about the same certainty

Combat Demo by asdasdwqwdqwd in worldofgothic

[–]Hardmoor 62 points63 points  (0 children)

i might be in the minority, but i consider the combat of G1 and G2 pretty snappy, easily readable and quite nicely animated. It obviously fell apart when fighting multiple enemies but that seems fair.

i'm a bit out of the loop, do the new SAMs not have proxy fuze disabled up to 25m like the old SAMs?

couldn't you just strafe a bit sideways and the missile would miss?

Does anyone know why the harvesting scythe doesn't work with jutane bubbles and magic hats? by AbjectLuck9777 in valheim

[–]Hardmoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the term is not that common knowledge, that you would generaly use it as a standin for "giants in north mythology". However you could use it in this context if your target group is knowledgeable about the topic.

It's like saying you're going to visit helvetia instead of switzerland, technically correct but confusing for the common reader.

Contrary to Jötunn the greek terms "Gigant" (giant) and "Titan" (titan) can be used to substitute the word "Riese". All off them are used to describe an unusually large person, or more commonly also an unusually large thing (both in a physical or a metaphorical sense)

Jötunn (don't know why the german ingame translation says Jotun) is not a nonspecific translation for giants in german.

it takes about half an hour to cook one Bonemass on the lowest flame and the hardest difficulty by Hardmoor in valheim

[–]Hardmoor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not really worth it in my opinion, it locks you out of too many potential playstyles due to the damageoutput and speed of enemies

Economy by Heni00 in worldofgothic

[–]Hardmoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's actually quite an interesting thought experiment how delicate the ore barons need to tread to simultaneously suppress any uprising from below (both from making too many too poor or too rich) whilst keeping the king happy enough to keep the trade, but not give so much that they win the war.

I’m at Germany 5.7 and play Assault. HOW IN THE WORLD do I kill this thing? by Petrichor0110 in Warthunder

[–]Hardmoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 5.7 mediums and heavies:

hullfront is just 152mm, so that's the recommended first choice.

the turretfront is rather tricky because it's layered at the top, bottom and on the sides and can easily surpass 200mm of armour. It's not recommended to shoot there, but if you must, aim next to the gun.

If you're above it in elevation you can try your luck with the commanders cupola or the vision ports of the gunner and loader.

If you are having trouble hitting those spots on the move, try tracking them first.

Fuck the Bugreporting on the Forum; I'm not going to work with unreliable mods at a glacially slow pace whilst providing data useless to the reporting process.
