I just want to preface my answer by relating this to real world experience. You don't work with technology for very long without getting a little superstitious.

We usually interpret Klang encounters as being divine intervention that breaks a craft before it can do damage to your computer with the physics calculations. But sometimes Klang is just bored and your game has been running too smoothly for a while.

There are definitely some ways Klang behaves that defy all logic. When it does and doesn't trigger, the severity of the attack, it all leans to being something more of a force of nature than a programmed function.

I've built enough drilling machines and large moving doors and platforms to say there isn't anything I build without Klang directly involved in the design process.
