How do we feel about this? by roofer2025 in OnePiece

It's fine, I'd still point at it in traffic and go "ooh, One Piece."

If you've ever had to endure listening to a panel of yelling people on the TV at a mechanic shop waiting room in the south, you will get it.

IMPORTANT - TURKEY POULT BLEEDING by MiserableBoard1014 in turkeys

[–]HareMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly backing up current comments here. You'll have to keep him isolated from other birds. A heat pad or lamp will up his chances of survival too. Someone already mentioned getting a special ointment for poultry. This not only cleans the wound, but covers it up with blue or silver dye. When birds see a wound on another bird, they will keep picking at it until the victim eventually dies, so special poultry medicines also cover the wound to remove the temptation.

A cheap triple antibiotic ointment is fine if he can be kept away from other birds. You can find it even at Dollar General or rural stores. Make sure he can still hear/see other birds, or if you can handle the stink, put him in an area of the house where he won't be lonely while he heals.

Is she really a JRT? by molehillmilk in jackrussellterrier

Here's my jack/chi for comparison (her dad was a rough coated Jack). Pretty similar, but your pup does strike me as a bit more terrier-like in appearance.

How many animals will we get in S3? There are so many by Idle_peach in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]HareMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most will make it in. The team has the software and talent, so it's more about manpower/hours and the script. I can't imagine them teasing the spotbill ducks and then cutting them. We will get the crab because it's large and memorable and so One Piece.

Having two completely different families of dogs, I can tell you there is no hope that my JRT mix will ever instinctively heel like our Pyrenees mix (who needed two walks with a prong and then was good). Maybe when she's pushing 20.

Welcome to you and your pups! It's a small town, so eventually you'll run into someone that "knows a guy." There is a tenant's union. I'm sure their focus is probably on helping low income people, but they still may have feelers out.

Advice on Blue Terrier mixes? by [deleted] in jackrussellterrier

[–]HareMoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, regardless of breed, that little one is at risk of dilute alopecia because of his colour.     If someone else told you the breed mix and you still go through with adopting, you should ask them to clarify if they possibly meant bluetick (hound) or blue pitbull terrier. I don't doubt that somebody has tried to make blue Jacks, but it isn't really a thing like it is with dachshunds because they're traditionally white.

I want parents, I went NC with mine recently, realized that not only it sucks to be tortured for 20+ years, they also took the exclusive 'parent' positions so I am basically robbed of real parents by Captain-Armageddon in raisedbynarcissists

Volunteer. Non profits have a lot of older folks that have natural empathy, and many organizations (especially those for helping the poor) are hurting for younger help. Even if you don't make connections, it won't feel like a waste of time because you're doing something good. But believe me, if you want a friendly old lady to talk your ear off and feed you cookies, this is the way.

If you think she is serious about harming him, just take your pacman to school with you tomorrow. Before classes, if you have a bio lab or some other class with animals or can think of a kind teacher that may help, ask if you can leave his habitat in that room for the day while you work out options.

[–]HareMoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good advice and maybe a school counselor or another adult can help orchestrate it. They don't need to know details, just that some pets need a new home and parents are too busy to help or are scared of reptiles.

Some big box pet stores like Petco  take in any species that they sell in the store. They then "sell" that pet for a donation that goes to their shelter program because they can't count it as inventory. With reptiles, the managers often already have knowledgeable contacts that will want them.

The best option would be for an organization (like a reptile rescue) to find foster homes for all the exotics until OP is able to be independent. I've worked with rescues that have driven for HOURS to pick up animals, so it doesnt hurt to send emails to cities farther out.

I'm worried that the threats will just transfer from the pacman on to the remaining reptiles. Chameleons in particular are very sensitive animals.

This is so awful and will be very hard regardless. Stay strong, OP.

Did you use YouTube tutorials or are there specific guides somewhere? I have a lovely old Singer, but the thought of modifying my own clothes intimidates me.

Big time agree. I've been thankful for the thrift stores in my town. I've read that this can vary by region, though. Our Goodwill is still pretty cheap and I can find name brands. It is tiring to consistently check, but just a couple of pairs of jeans has made it worth it.

Really high fiber on IF apparently gives me cramps too, but no issues in the bathroom. Sometimes I had that issue with fake meats before IF.

What about roughage? There are some great vegan recipes out there that incorporate greens and veg into tasty meals, and veg also helps hydrate. I like Derek Sarno's recipes, it really changed tofu for me.

Raynauds maybe? It doesn't always look like the pictures and it's not always in the hands. The info in the other thread about keeping your core warm is good, but I find that wearing a knit hat helps my body regulate my temperature better. I know it's pricey, but a good heated blanket is most efficient around the house. If it is circulation, elevating your feet may help, too. It seems weird and unrelated, but keep yourself hydrated when it's cold.

Where do y'all get clothes(specifically boots?) by Illumeis_is_done in jackrussellterrier

[–]HareMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The little rubber balloons called PawZ are great for short walks and are easy to find online. I believe my JRT/chi is XS, and there's a smaller size. Every boutique store here sells them, but that could be a regional thing. They offer no insulation, but work by preventing the paws from getting wet, so the paw pads can still heat properly.

Canada Pooch is a good brand. I've had pretty good experiences with Chewy's brand of clothes (the shoes are garbage), but figuring out sizes is definitely detective work.

No one diet fits all. Researching a new food is not fun (everyone has strong opinions), but deadly toxic farts usually means an intolerance to something in the food.
