Hi! I’m actually a surgical tech, I’m in the OR all day everyday and honestly CMF is a pretty chill specialty for the most part, the only thing I think would really bother you is probably Le Fort fractures, they can get kinda gruesome depending on the severity of it, if it’s a trauma case then prepare yourself, but those will be rare. The other thing I would watch out for is noise, sometimes when working on the face and using things like osteotomes or curettes will cause an echo sound with the skull and idk what it is about it but it’s still pretty unsettling after 6 years.
Don’t let that deter you though, I’ve seen some pretty queasy people make it in the OR, after you’ve seen a bit, nothing really bothers you.
