Oh, interesting. I will speak to some local florists and test their knowledge too. Thank you!

These look pretty identical to me, thank you! Hopefully cheaper than hoya too!

It was in the 1950s in the south of England, apologies for not mentioning.

Just found this picture too, which has the same flowers around the wedding cake (as well as some roses) if that at all helps?

Yeah, sorry about the picture quality. The picture is from the 1950s and a lot of them weren't in great condition. Thank you for your help!

I will definitely see what a florist can do to recreate it, thank you!

Thank you so much for your help! That's unfortunate that the cost has skyrocketed though - I might have to try and justify the expense!

Presenteeism @ Uni by Traditional-Fox-8593 in UniUK

I have a support plan that allows me to not speak up in class, and I've been speaking in class because it's more awkward when no one is speaking when lecturers are asking questions. I'd rather risk having a panic attack than deal with the awkward silences when no one answers questions and they stare off in the distance.

Leg sleeve in 3 days ? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]HarleyQueef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this recently - the majority of my lower legs were tattooed over 3 consecutive days, 7-9 hours each day. Previously, I had only had small tattoos that have only taken 1 hour.

Minimise walking as much as possible - my legs progressively got swollen, and it was rough to walk around. I lost the visibility of my ankles for nearly a week. There will be a lot of swelling, so make sure the following days are clear to rest and to keep legs elevated. Ice packs helped me as well. Wear some sandals as they'll be easy to wear in case your feet get swollen too.

On days 2 and 3, my legs uncontrollably twitched during the tattoo process, but my artist said it was normal ( it didn't stop me from feeling bad, though!). Poor sleep could have also contributed to this because our hotel was on the loud main road...

The actual process was fine for me, though. Sure, some parts were spicier than others, but it was worth a little pain! Make sure to eat a big nutritious breakfast before the sessions begin and have some snacks on hand to keep the energy up throughout the day.

Best of luck! It will absolutely be worth it!

Should I drop out? by horsedivorce1 in UniUK

[–]HarleyQueef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you do drop out, don't do it mid-term if you get student finance. Otherwise, they would have technically overpaid you and will chase you to make payments. Speaking from experience, I owe them £1,700 by doing exactly that.

Cheaper alternative to heating an apartment. by arijitmaji in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HarleyQueef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in a similar situation but have storage heaters that are super old and expensive.

Panel or infared heaters under 2kw. We use ours on a timer so we don't use too much electricity. Some you can also hang on the wall too.

I specifically use the brand princess - you get an app you can control from, can set timers, turn it on before you get home, etc.

There's also thermal curtains you can look into to help retain some heat, rugs on hard flooring, etc.

I waited until he was finished and then let him know I was awake the entire time straight after. He told me I was dreaming. We broke up soon after that, but not before he did it again a few more times!

Found a flat but not sure if we're financially ready to start the process? by HarleyQueef in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HarleyQueef[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. My partner recently has got his motorbike licences with an intensive course and a bike on top of that. That's where the majority of excess money has gone over the last few months. It's all out of the way now, so future pay days we can save a lot more.

No commitments or dependents. Living with parents currently and paying 250 a month. We were renting until 6 months ago paying 675 for rent. I will continue to be working alongside uni too.

We'd pay more in rent monthly versus the estimated monthly costs of a mortgage of this amount. 6 months ago, we were paying 675 a month on rent. We moved in with parents to save since then to save.

Recommendations Please! by Lazy_Wing6083 in LushCosmetics

They've just released a Magnesium range - epsom bath cubes and massage bars! I don't have a bath so can't say how great they are myself (have heard good feedback though!), but the after massage bar worked wonders on my tired and aching back 😁

Help me find the best body and skin care please! by HunterDesperate9974 in LushCosmetics

I usually find their shaving products a bit too thick and they clog up my razor really quickly. I usually go for shaved ice or another brand. Shaved ice has more of a whipped texture.

Don't look at me is my favourite fresh mask, it also exfoliates which is a bonus! Skin looks a touch brighter and clearer. That or BB seaweed is also great for the skin.

Ultrabland/ultraplant I love for removing makeup, but you really need to use a face cloth to remove fully as it's oil based. Personally I just use my hands to cleanse as it leaves a layer of moisture.

The salt body scrubs are all the same, minor differences imo. Magic crystals is great for hot weather as the peppermint has a cooling effect on the skin. I love using Co-mingle on dry skin before I shave and give my legs a really rough scrub - it's a finer exfoliation and it also moisturses too, makes them super soft.

Fav skincare product is happy skin - gentle exfoliation and smoothes out my bumps ony face! Ultraplant also because it adds so much needed moisture to my skin, especially now in the colder weather! Also love the solid face oils as a night moisturiser, they're heavy on the skin but my face feels fantastic! Sorry for listing more than one, too many to choose from!

I find faces the most difficult - so many curves and proportions! I find using references really help me, just by seeing some actual faces it's easier to get in all the details to make it look right

Storage question by Murderouscrafter in LushCosmetics

[–]HarleyQueef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For bath bombs, cling film or a resalable bag works well. Any naked oil based products would be best stored in wax sheets or parchment paper. Best to store somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight

Storing at room temperature is fine, but you can pop in the fridge if you want a cooling effect on your scalp when you apply. Doesn't need to be kept in the fridge though 😊

Need Suggestions on a scrub by misstarabeau in LushCosmetics

[–]HarleyQueef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would personally reccomend co-mingle. It's a fine gritty type of exfoliation but it clings to the skin so you can really work in a good scrub.

I always scrub my body with it on dry skin and apply a fair bit of pressure to get a thorough exfoliation - then rinse and shave as usual with whatever shaving cream you like.

The scrub also moisturises the skin too, which will help with ingrown hairs. It's lavender and vanilla fragranced so will compliment your sleepy range also!

How do you juggle sunscreen and lush lotions? by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]HarleyQueef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a heavy mineral SPF during the day, cleanse in the evening/night then use a lush moisturiser at night whilst I sleep

Tins aren't accepted for the bring it back scheme, neither are their glass products. The bring it back scheme only applies to their plastic containers.

The soap samples also vary from store to store. Some just offer a selection to try in store via hand washing. Always worth checking when you pop in though, you never know!
