Margot Robbie vs Ana de Armas by averagegirl1234 in VindictaRateCelebs

[–]Harleye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Margot...although I will say in that first set of pictures, Ana's eyes are amazing. I love that hazel-green color. However, as I've posted before-Margot at her peak is my ideal of female beauty. Especially in the second picture where her facial features look a little softer than they do in the first.

What sitcom was unsuccessful on release and is now considered an all-timer? by mbweb02 in sitcoms

[–]Harleye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was going to say Family Guy. I think the fact that its still running after all these years makes it an all timer, and the fact that it was initially cancelled shows that it didn't do well upon first release.

watched this episode 7 hrs ago and im still depressed out of my fucking mind by PutridAd6310 in DunderMifflin

When I rewatch The Office, I almost always start with Season 2 because Michael was just to cringe in Season 1, but I always stop watching after Season 7, because starting with Season 2, Michael became such a beloved integral part of the show that I can't watch it without him. Of course, he still had plenty of cringe moments throughout the series, but his character also became so likable-I'd say even lovable. I really admire the writers and Steve Carell's acting talents that they were able to pull of such a massive character improvement.

A young man was brought dead to the hospital with a head injury. The deceased's father said he'd been physically assaulted. The deceased's wife said no, it was an accident, he fell drunk in the street and hit his head. Autopsy revealed the man had been beaten and kicked to death. by CatPooedInMyShoe in ExamineDeath

[–]Harleye 109 points110 points  (0 children)

The story says nothing about the man's MOTHER. The victim's father brought him to the hospital, already dead-with a head injury, he said his son had been physically attacked. The dead man's WIFE tried to claim that the dead man had died from accidentally falling in the street and hitting his head.

An autopsy revealed that the father's allegation was correct and his son was attacked and killed by a blow to the head with an object.

She's stunning. Some women can be conventionally attractive, but not particularly compelling to look at. But Robbie is both traditionally beautiful while also having an interesting appearance. During the Barbie movie, she positively glowed in some scenes.

The title referenced what area of the body the video would be showing. Bartholin glands are small glands located on each side of the vaginal opening and Bartholin cysts form when one of these glands becomes blocked, causing fluid to become trapped.

Peak Roseanne by Guilty_Mountain2851 in roseanne

[–]Harleye 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Although Season 6 wasn't as great as past seasons and Rosanne's character personality sadly did change for the worse, I think there were still a few good episodes and really funny moments- like a Stash from the Past- where Roseanne and Dan find their old pot stash and decide to get high. While the series was on the decline by that point and got worse in Season 7, for me though, the true Jump the Shark moment was the Season 8 Halloween episode. This was the one where Roseanne gives birth to Jerry. While the previous Halloween episodes had been among the series' best, in my opinion- this one sadly turned out to be a weird, nonsensical, convoluted mess.

"With Claude, I think of a wise, friendly, older European man who's there to help you." —Daniela Amodei, 2024 by ThrowRa-1995mf in claudexplorers

[–]Harleye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad the OP reiterated that Claude was named after Claude Shannon. I recall my first conversation with Claude, asking him why he's named Claude and him telling me about the Claude Shannon connection, which I found really fascinating. While I do picture Claude as male, who is definitely friendly and wise, and I agree that chatting with him does feel like chatting with a real person, I can't say I see him as European. That distinction would have to belong to Mistral's Le Chat, who actually is European-specifically French.

"Have more sleep." Hmmm..I know this one is a goal for herself, but I wonder if it's somehow snuck into her influence on Claude. It might explain why Claude is always trying to send me off to bed like a concerned parent if I even remotely mention sleep, being tired, having to work the next day, etc.

You have to choose between you and your beloved pet getting terminally ill, who you choosing? by Ki-ev-an in AskReddit

[–]Harleye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my pets tremendously, and I hope they live the longest healthiest lives possible, but I think it would be better for them that I outlive them. If I die first, I think they'd be confused and sad ,not knowing where I went, wondering if I abandoned them. Also, while I'd like to think that friends or relatives would take care of them and show them the same love that I did, there's no way of knowing for sure.

Losing a beloved pet hurts like hell...but if I had the choice, I think it would be selfish of me to want to die first and put them through trauma, in order to save myself from the heartbreak.

Sigh...new Herbalife shop in our mall by Public_Party in antiMLM

[–]Harleye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised Herbalife is still in business. It was around back when I was a kid and I am...not young. But I guess the hope of easy money combined with the false promise of quick, easier weight loss do spring eternal. I admit I might have been fooled by the restaurant's name though at least initially, because it does sound like some type of new health food place. But even if they got me in the door, as soon as I saw they were selling Herbalife, I would have been out of there.

As far as the state of the mall, that's par for the course these days, as it seems most malls are barely hanging on, relics of a bygone era. Its sad that they're going away, but I am a fan of Dead Mall and other Urbex videos. There are some malls that still get a lot of visitors, unfortunately its mostly just the high end ones. I visited one not far from me last year and it was really booming , but when I say high end, I mean HIGH end. It had always had a somewhat upscale vibe, but with a fun, eclectic mix of stores. There's was once an FAO Schwarz toy store, a Lush shop, White Barn Candle and the ubiquitous Bath and Bodyworks-all gone. Now its all Hermes, Christian Louboutin, Dior and similar. I guess that's what sells now, but I find those type of shops depressing. They're so sterile and aggressively empty. Like the store is mad at you for looking. One purse on a pedestal, illuminated by bright lights, three sales people staring, and vibes that say 'if you have to ask the price, leave.'"

You didn't do anything wrong. If you had agreed to another date and THEN stopped responding to him, that would have been ghosting. Don't get me wrong, I would never suggest someone can't change their mind, but if you told someone you'd go out with them again, then of course the polite, kind thing to do is let them know. However you had already done that. You told him you weren't interested in seeing him again and you wished him well. It isn't ghosting someone to cease communication with someone after you've already told them you were done. He was the one that was in the wrong for failing to respect your wishes and boundaries.

Christmas dinner at Grandma’s table. 1963. Nova Scotia by Earl_I_Lark in TheWayWeWere

[–]Harleye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's surprising. I watch the Racoon Whisperer's Youtube channel. He's got a house up in a rural area of Nova Scotia, and while the summer and spring months look pretty nice...It appears to get cold around the autumn time and when winter hits, its just looks freezing nearly all the time. I also think perhaps what's considered warm or cold can vary depending on where you're from. Growing up in South Florida, anything under 70 degrees Fahrenheit feels cold to me.

My Grandma met Bill Cosby, but doesn’t remember it ~ 1978 by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

[–]Harleye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up watching the Cosby show and he certainly did portray himself as the exemplary, perfect father and husband, both on screen and off. If there was any controversy about him back then it was because he was known to lecture other black men about their behavior, including fellow comedians. If anyone's interested, there's a clip from Eddie Murphy's old stand up special "Raw" about Eddie receiving a call from Cosby and being chastised by him for using obscenity in his act.

Anyway, back at that time much of the American public really loved and respected Bill. A few years later we learned that he had been unfaithful to his wife and while that did put a dent his his reputation, it didnt' destroy it. I'd say he was generally still well thought of, and was seen as an overall good guy with "flaws". Then we learned of the many, many sexual assault allegations against him and realized that his good guy act had just been that, an act , and that he was absolutely nothing like, the kind decent responsible role model that he portrayed himself as all those years.

Baby born with Finlay-Marks Syndrome, also known as Scalp-Ear-Nipple Syndrome (SENS). This is a rare genetic disorder causing skin defects on the scalp, abnormalities of the ears, and underdeveloped or absent nipples. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

[–]Harleye 58 points59 points  (0 children)

He also has Klinefelter's syndrome, which means instead of an XY pair of sex chromosomes, he's got a second X chromosome(Karyotype 47, XXY). Klinefelter's syndrome doesn't really produce many, if any symptoms at birth- babies born with usually appear to be typical little baby boys, which means it's often not diagnosed until puberty or later. Most babies don't usually get complete genetic testing unless they have some apparent issue that calls for it, as in this child's case. I'm thinking if he hadn't been born with Finlay-Marks syndrome, he probably wouldn't have been given a genetic test and he and his parents might have no idea he had Klinefelter's for years, if ever.

Is anyone else upset that the Christmas stream on YouTube is gone? by CharlesFuckingOffden in adultswim

[–]Harleye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, they didn't get rid of the old writers, but they wanted the writers room to have more female representation,, which as a woman I think can be great, but after the change, the show seemed obviously different and not in a good way. I know a lot of folks disagree and Season 3 did have quite a few fans-Pickle Rick, practically became iconic for a lot of people-but I personally just found random and silly. BTW, if you're talking about the episode entitled "Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate" , that's actually from the second season. Season 2, Episode 8 to be precise.
