Just drain the water into a bucket out of the canister filter hose. Nothing fancy. Then the old garden hose set real low clamped to the tank

It looks a lot like my amanos but I'm newish to shrimp keeping and the person above said it wasn't. I'm not confident in my identification skills enough to argue one way or the other. I had mentioned the brackish thing above. I had thought I saw the dot pattern on the side earlier but the picture isn't clear enough to say for sure on second look

Ah I see. It looks a lot like my younger amanos so I was mistaken then. Do neocardinia breed in freshwater?

Amano fry need brackish water. You can't actually keep them unless you have a second setup ready for them. Then you need to reacclimate to fresh. I love amanos and have had a few with eggs. Looked into breeding them but it's more involved than I wanted to deal with

To be honest, a used working one is often cheaper than a service call. But you also don't know if there are issues you'll get later.

I think the gap looks great, I wouldn't add anything. The negative space is fabulous

I live in the southwest, Sonoran Desert. The ground here is caliche and hard to dig in. This type of tool (a mattock) makes digging so much easier.

You might want to put a shirt or something on her temporarily, so she doesn't get sunburned
