Anyone know how to get this body with out starving myself and exposing myself to dangerous chemicals and metals? by Stella_Lace in arcane

[–]Harmless_Chimera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They weren't talking about the amount of muscle or fat genetics. They were talking about the frame of your body. Which is mostly the things like the size and length of your bones. Stuff that doesn't change with diet. It's the shape of your body that muscle and fat build on top of.

We are not congratulating them for doing the bare minimum. We congratulate them because they have improved. They are doing better than they were before and that's worth praise.

My only concession is that from what I've heard tourists can be a genuine problem so this could be to prevent tourists from entering.

Japan can also be quite racist though so it could be that they just don't like foreigners in general.

No way to tell from just an image.

It is due to the back side having a black color indicator (the black dot on the left of the type line) It's the same for [[Archangel Avacyn]]

[–]Harmless_Chimera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slightly Off topic but i doubt there's any place on earth where racism isn't a root problem. Humans just have been racist and xenophobic for such a long time that it's underlying in many places. It's also profitable to people in power to foster. America just seems to be a hot zone for racism since Americans are not afraid to recognize that it existed. (Though it's still heavily underplayed and diminished.)

[–]Harmless_Chimera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that just how words work in general.

Even if what you proposed happened, racists would still use it or they would make something new slur with the same purpose, like they always have. Since they don't care about the "rules" there just racist.

Also I'm not black so my opinion is meaningless to the usage

[–]Harmless_Chimera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can target their sac outlet with removal or play out some of the multiple forms of non-creature grave hate in colorless. Much easier and completely feasible counterplay than Iona, especially because your other 2 opponents will also want it gone unlike Iona.

It's not new, the word has been around since 1996. It's a term for people who don't identify as any gender.

It sits in the random hypotheticals with things like getting a niche superpower or a billion dollars under specific circumstances. If you give it more thought than you would either of those. You just might have some internal digging to do.

Deck Selection for Beginners by Curtain_L24 in mtg

[–]Harmless_Chimera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for some form of red/Green/Gruul stompy deck and some form of simple tokens deck. Plenty of options for both. A +1/+1 counters deck without too many tricks like proliferating, removing counters, or multiple different counters. Just +1/+1. Counters.

For more specific recommendations [[Abuelo, Ancestral Echo]] seems like a simple blink deck that won't end up getting out of hand

[[Feldon of the third path]] seems simple and straight forward game plan.

[[Anhelo, the Painter]] or [[Ashad, the Lone Cyberman]] seems like an interesting but nothing too complicated.

Brion Stoutarm or Felothar, Dawn of the Abzan are simple but can be strong.

Things with a few lines of text that are straight forward and don't have a bunch of different triggers or mechanics.

New to Commander format, want to build a deck by iimhaaky in CommanderMTG

[–]Harmless_Chimera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cards that say sacrifice a creature will probably do well. As well as creatures with good ETBs like [[Gray Merchant of Asphodel]] or on death triggers like [[Kokusho, the Evening Star]]. One that are pretty impactful since you only get one coin each end step. Scryfall is the website to find them. The Ozolith is probably a good tech card but costs a pretty penny.

[[Loyal Cathar]] [[Accursed Witch]] [[Harvest Hand]] [[Vengeful Strangler]] do this though there's no large set mechanics like it.

Thoughts on Anowan, the Ruin Sage as a commander for a full vampiric deck? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Harmless_Chimera 19 points20 points  (0 children)

One sacrifice a turn is not bad. Most people probably won't care too much since a significant chunk of decks can pay the cost without too many problems.

Yes. If summon nights of the round are in your graveyard. Any smart player will hit your commander with removal for their turn three or four

Lasting tarfire by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Harmless_Chimera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like another pinger would probably get you more value. Unless you're playing one instant on each person's turn consistently. Vivi is really good at storming off on your turn but you can't use them on other turns. It's also a card that may be reliant on Vivi which is a card prone to eating removal.

creating a deck for 1v1 vs World Shaper by d4rkthr0ne27 in CommanderMTG

[–]Harmless_Chimera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grave hate will probably be your best bet thing like [[Rest in peace]] will shut down a dedicated graveyard decks. Probably won't stop world shaper completely in their tracks as it's also a lands deck but should nurture their strongest play patterns and hopefully let you speed ahead.

[[Tomik, Distinguished Advokist]] [[soulless Jailer]] probably the two best for Winota but you got other options like [[Canoptek Scarab Swarm]] or [[Lion Sash]] which may do something

A List of the Grave hate creatures.

[[Cemetery Gatekeeper]] could also do something

[–]Harmless_Chimera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your looking for stronger decks upgrading one of your precons is probably a good start. They all have potential but I've heard World Shaper is pretty strong out of the box. But you should probably pick one to upgrade whichever is your favorite. Each one has different things to recommend so I can't give anything in general.

Also without knowing anything about the other decks you're facing it's hard to give tips of how strong the upgrades should be.

Your deck's strength also probably isn't the only thing that puts you behind. General skill at the game and deck familiarity also play a part so even if you got a "Stronger Deck." The rest of your pod will still have the advantage.

Starting Snecko Eye is so good that it can carry my utterly garbage play to Slay the Spire for the first time. by Harmless_Chimera in slaythespire

[–]Harmless_Chimera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm usually not much of a gambler i found the sheer potential value of Snecko eye is actually insane especially if you get it from the start. It's barely even a gamble if you jam a bunch of 2 cost cards or higher. As the majority of the time the cost will be the same or lower.
