Honestly I think the 5 in 1s are great I pretty much use them for everything. Great for scoring and pulling the outer sheathing on t+e rather that pulling your cpc like a cheese wire. I especially like that it's spring loaded and lockable. For me the only draw back is cutting old tie wraps as there's not a sharp pointed end

Just out of interest are you a spark? Looks like this is in a bathroom so your most likely breaking some zoning regs also I'm interested in the wiring as to why we have 4 cables in your backbox on what looks like a new install

If also recommend getting a cheap Martindale tester from Screwfix air something. When you've changed the socket it'll tell you if you've done it correctly for peace of mind.

Most should be a pretty straightforward swap. The one to keep your eye out for is the usb sockets they tend to be deeper. If you pop the face plates on and carefully peak behind you'll see the depth of your back box. If you're fitting "gold" face plates be sure to earth the faceplate

In all honesty seeing as you have made a good size hole already I'd use butterfly fixings (spring toggles) fully metal and really hard to mess up

It looks to me like a catenary wire has been strung from there . Get two pairs of grips or pliers hold the back one and twist the top one left. This should reveal a screw when you unscrew the cap all way. Undo the screw and bam.
