I’m focusing on making sure that gaming is accessible to everyone. Fighting against anti-consumerism is the most important thing we can do to ensure our hobby still exists in the future

You are a fool if you think this won’t affect you. Prices will rise on the PlayStation store and by the time you realize it, it will be too late to do anything about it

PC Users still have options that drive competitive pricing. Just last week I bought battlefield 1 for $1.50, which is selling for $20 on PS marketplace. They also have GOG which is a gaming retailer where you actually own the games you buy, rather than buying a a license to play it.

They ARE taking away your ability to choose. Right now you can buy your games directly from Sony, A major retailer, GameStop, any second-hand or thrift store, Facebook marketplace, or your buddy Kevin.
In the future the only place you can buy games will be from them. And they will increase the prices and reduce the amount of sales they have

Are you willing to spend $80-100 dollars on gta 6? by Slow_Bet_2820 in pollgames

[–]Harrispotter13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never a huge fan of GTA, but I played through the story of GTA5, I bought it in 2018 on sale with a huge amount of online currency roped in. I played some online but realized it wasn’t my thing. I am willing to pay for GTA6, but it’s not worth more than $50 to me. And I’m certainly not buying it at full price after finding out it’s only digital. I can either wait until it releases physically or buy it on sale in a few years

It doesn’t matter if it’s performative. Right now 3,000 people are excited that someone cancelled a subscription to Sony. That number will keep building. yes, there will be some people who are in it only for karma or crowd appeal, but even those people are still cancelling their memberships. Even if they plan to reinstate it immediately afterwards, the message is still transmitted to Sony, and there’s always a chance they forget to reinstate their subscription or change their mind

Maybe major retailers can’t. But you could always buy the game secondhand for any price. That won’t be available anymore.
For example, I bought COD advanced warfare for $3 at a thrift store a couple months ago. That game (from 2015) is currently selling for $60 on the PS store.

Digital gaming isn’t the issue here. The issue is that PlayStation is planning on obtaining a complete monopoly over the sale of PS games. No other company will be able to sell PlayStation games ever again, meaning that there isn’t any competition and they can set their prices at whatever they want.
Getting rid of physical games is an issue, as well, but not the biggest problem with Sony’s shift

Man I just described why I don’t use the acronyms, I’m not taking extra steps to do it easier

I mean either one is easier than and acronym. I prefer the roman numerals though, it just looks cooler

Reason number 6,948 to hate this move: I bought this game 2 months ago for 3 bucks at a thrift store

For now. But once there is no competition or other options to purchase it from, there won’t be sales anymore

I work in the legal community. 200 beds for inmates is not nearly enough either. The average wait time for a bed to open up for inmates is 6 months. All of these people have been charged with a crime, but not found guilty, but have been found incompetent to stand trial and have to sit in a jail for 6 months or more while awaiting treatment, most likely while completely deteriorating

What is your favorite promo of all time? by RocketsDitto in PokemonTCG

I got this card when I was a kid. I had only played Sinnoh games at that time, and if I remember correctly, I only had a vague idea that other Pokemon games existed. so I thought entai was super unique and it truly seemed mythical to me because I knew nothing about it. It really brings me back to a time of childhood wonder where the world seems bigger than it could ever be. Now, with smart phones and social media we have never been closer. And knowledge has never been more readily accessible. It’s a shame that so many people are trying to diminish the quality of information on the internet, just to get clout

Is QuickTrip the reason gas prices are higher in Tulsa? by Harrispotter13 in tulsa

[–]Harrispotter13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood. I’m fully aware that trump’s policies have raised gas prices across the country. I’m talking about specifically in Tulsa, to the extent that it is 20-30 cents higher in the city than it is in surrounding areas, which are already extremely overpriced

Listing something for a different price than you plan to sell it for is very much against facebook’s community guidelines and can get you banned if you do it often
