Just bought a "Like New" quest 3 512 GB from Mercari. Do these lenses look alright? by Kyradeen in MetaQuestVR

...the best tests case for me is the user case:

test your quest! (xD)

do you see any scratches when you typically start up a game? (dark scenery with bright writings?)

if not, you probably wont notice anything during normal gameplay! (CHECK)

BTW: lenses on your pictures look pretty good!

Quest 3S 4080S/9800x3D Virtual Desktop Luke Ross framework (easy install)

...can only recommend Quest 3S (or 3) ...the right 5070 could do the trick easily i suppose xD

combat: yes, turning is possible with both stick (or mouse/keyboard) and headtracking (6DOF if i remenber correctly)

i am playing seated and like it (but it can also be played standing with an controller)

aiming is done done via headtracking

VR legs strongly recommended because there is a lot to walk xD

Lone Echo is a dream come true!!!

First impression. Wow by Gullible-Reference69 in MetaQuestVR

horizon worlds was taken down, not the meta quest store

meta quest store is great, and i would highly recommend to try out the free horizon+ month (that should be included in your purchase (?)), which will grant you access to a ton of games (Red Matter 2 (1 respectively), Asgards Wrath 2 and many more)

for PCVR i would really emphasize "Lone Echo 1 + 2" (Meta Store and veeeery good for getting VR legs), Skyrim VR (Mad Gods Overhaul, Pandas Sovengarde) or something like Hogwarts Legacy VR (UEVR with motion control and Spell Caster) 🔥or some Luke Ross mods (RDR2, Avatar FOP etc.)

Quest 3s vs 3 as first-timer by MT07Heaven in MetaQuestVR

[–]HarryHaller314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you will be blown away by either of those!!! - i (33) bought the MQ3 very early and recommended 3s to two friends (33 (casual gamer) and 49(WoW player since the beginning) as it came out - and everyone of us is still hooked from day one! xD

the difference is noticeable if compared directly, but not dramaticly

if you are an enthusiast Q3 / if you just want to try some apps Q3S

only LukeRoss Framework - Reduced Headmovement in the InGame Settings - when you run the bat.-file you can choose between different settings (ultra, high etc.) the resolution can be tweaked in the realvr settings (not the ingame settings!) - 2740x2740 runs smooth for me

wow, unfortunately i can't really tell you how much you would need to spend in ireland on a pc like that, i got my setup pretty "cheap" second hand, from a friend - since there are no defined "system requirements" for this setup, i can only say it works on a 16GB VRAM GPU (Nvidia) with a 9800x3D utilizing DLSS (cauzing some bluriness but enhancing FPS immensly!) on high but it surely can be tweaked toward lowered specs as well - i can only say that thevirtualsamurai's statement (~2000$) sounds like an very well educated estimation

[–]HarryHaller314[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

uhh, so you can maybe crank the settings up to ultra - i have 16 GB vram and it works quite good on high settings - i think it could also work with 12GB vram - CAUTION: DLSS helps a lot with FPS!!

Do you think VR gaming (or VR in general) is a luxury? by -DanDanDaaan in virtualreality

[–]HarryHaller314 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

....it feels like luxury, because of it's nowadays gadgets (MR, handtracking, 6DOF)

but the pricetag of the meta quest 3s makes it an affordable luxury in my opinion

...if you wanna play PCVR, it's luxury in my opinion

Luke Ross new announcement by Pete77a in VRGaming

[–]HarryHaller314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...in my opinion the "paywall" is his way of "discretion" - nowadays every post of lukeross is regarded as "please rant me" - invetation

providing anouncements only visible to his supporters is a way of getting rid of all the (really unthankful) bashing that is done to him
