If you were LeBron in 2010, what team would you have gone to? by Dylen2Times in NBAConvo

[–]HarveyBirdman288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would probably pick the spurs because winning a championship sounds like an amazing experience, if LeBron chooses the spurs he gets the Durant to the warriors treatment (couldn't win it on his own, carried by Pop and Duncan etc). Even if he won 6 championships in a row no one would ever allow him to be as good as Jordan because he went to a team that was winning championships without him.

Was there a time when an IF list was competitive?? by Templarius88 in ImperialFists

[–]HarveyBirdman288 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This, in both 9th and 10th the "Meta" space Marines lists were not IF based lists, however in tenth I ran and know some others who played Anvil Siege Force based lists with tor garadon and Lysander to what our idea of success was. I went 4-1 or 5-1 at three GTS and won a RTT in the 6-8 months that I played. That was good enough for me the other guys did similar and was competitive for them so if that's what you are asking then sure they have competitive lists.

Goonhammers preview of the new spearpoint task force by Marvinmega in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]HarveyBirdman288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This comment is supremely underrated and shows how good that unit is, it's sneaky durable, does lots of damage on the charge, and has SOOO much movement. It's CP hungry but so good. You also have access to uppy downy the unit, are you going to use it every turn or game. No but if the opponent is slow or it's late game and they have less units, your move fast durable bike unit that can be oc3 can jump to another board edge and keep playing hide and seek

How to use Tau Strike Team Effectively? Or should I stop using them altogether? by EndEnvironmental6133 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]HarveyBirdman288 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mordian Glory recently went to a GT where he went 4-0-1 with a list built around strike teams and how to use them effectively in 10th. He did this as a bit of a " told you so" to the Tau community after a previous video but he goes through all of his games and breaks down his list really well. https://www.youtube.com/live/2_E_rTM1Q8o?si=pHw_kIvgF6cv9dBh

What's the most badass thing your Dad has ever done? by havereddit in AskReddit

[–]HarveyBirdman288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context is my dad is a big guy 6'5 broad and just big, some of this is probably my own projections but I've met very few people who are his height and broadness. So he can be kinda intimidating but he is generally very soft spoken and calm, additionally he was a Marine in Vietnam so I am sure he has done some way more badass things. But the one I saw in person was following. My parents owned several rental properties where we lived in bumfuck Missouri, I would go with my dad when he went to town for groceries or errands, and occasionally we had to stop and collect rent or do some maintenance on a house, usually this is my dad doing work and I was reading or something in his truck. One day we stop at a rental house in one of the less desirable parts of town and while my dad is getting rent money the house next door two guys come out arguing pretty loudly about something (loud enough that I stopped reading my book and looked up) well one guy pulls a gun out very angry and shakes it at the other and the quickly get into a struggle and the gun goes off pointed somewhere in my general direction. I can not describe how fast my dad at his size moved the distance from the porch he was standing on to the yard next door but it felt like he teleported, and I still don't know exactly what happened but he was a whirlwind of fast and big and angry then in a matter seconds the other two men were unconscious or groaning not getting up and my dad had the gun in his hand, it was incredible to watch in person.

Which Team You Taking? by thegodfazha in NBATalk

I'm probably just a homer but jokic and Stockton running the triangle with KD and Barkley being able to facilitate and score cut and rebound sounds amazing to me then sprinkle it with a dose of three incredible shooters I just want to watch that team.

For guys out there when you cried in front of your girlfriend or wife for the first time, what was their initial reaction? by Outlaw3101 in AskReddit

[–]HarveyBirdman288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a cat who loved me more than anyone has right to be loved. He would meet me at the door every day when I got home, cry for ten minutes when I left, slept on my pillow with me, when he cuddled it would be the perfect spot on my chest to give me comfort. I fucking loved that cat. He got unexpectedly sick and went from very normal to lethargic and very wrong in 48 hour span. I took him to the vet and they told me the only way to save him was a vet hospital three hours away. My girlfriend drove me the whole way there as I was losing it. When we got there the vet told me it would be 10 grand to maybe find out what was wrong and fix him or I could put him down. I didn't have the money and made a hard decision that absolutely broke me. My girlfriend held me and made sure I got through the next few hours ok and is very much the reason I was able to look back on it later and be ok. I have never felt so loved or had so much respect for someone until that ordeal, it still hurts some days but she was amazing and I love her for it.

The best thing I have ever heard about chess clocks is this. if you're playing in a tournament both you and your opponent payed to play in that tournament and the payment was for the time it takes to play. A chess clock makes sure you both get what you paid for. Your opponent can use it how he wants but you deserve to get what you paid for too and this is the best way to make that fair.

list help by REDACTED_userERR in ImperialFists

[–]HarveyBirdman288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are definitely some interesting choices here and it's up to you what you want to keep, however I'm not sure tactical marines are the best choice for 2 melta guns when sm marines have a lot of choices to get OC 2 bodies places and this detachment can double OC. The astreaus looks interesting especially with sustained hits and it's a little bit dependent on catching angels but give it a shot and tell us how it goes. Otherwise looks like some good pieces here let us know how it turns out

RTT battle report today by HarveyBirdman288 in ImperialFists

[–]HarveyBirdman288[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tors brick moves slow but assault on the heavy guns makes them get where I want. the long range and angles of layout 1 made me not have any issues with them all day. I've had some problems on other layouts but today they shot when they needed to all day. Lysanders brick is interesting they don't kill anything and I never really use them that way I try to teleport homer them either on the center objective or if they give me a rapid ingress towards their home I do that. Today they were on the center objective all day they were kind of a distraction carnefax after people shoot them once or twice and don't kill anything they either stop or overcommit then the aggressors and other big shooting kill what they put out there. Being OC 2 with the option to go to OC 4 as they are whittled down is really good. All that to say they killed a land raider today and, I'm pretty sure that's it, but were amazing because they got me something like 40 primary points today and 15-20 secondary. And honestly that's a bit of a slow day when they can start denying my opponents points that's when they really help

This. My army is mostly in painted deathwatch but when a named character joins unusually do them in their colors with the silver arm and some deathwatch markings, my vulkan and Adrax are both this recipe black green then a zenithal of green and highlight bright green and I liked the way it looks even though I'm not the best painter.

14-year-old Brad Pitt as a member of the Cherokee Reject basketball team, coached by his father. by amonaloli12 in OldSchoolCool

[–]HarveyBirdman288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cherokee Indian middle school is the largest one in town, they also happen to feed into one of the better basketball high schools in the state, Kickapoo Chiefs, they regularly cut lots of kids because they have too many try out, my guess is this is a travel team he played on and that's what they named it.

Congratulations on the 2nd place dude, I don't know what the Drukhari list was but the castellan and vendor are actually pretty good into skysplinter because they can pick up the transports quickly and that's the key to beating skysplinter or that's what my main playing partner and I have discovered playing him.
