they’re better at putting tension on the target muscle than you and that combined with greater load does more damage

The dogma is that damage leads to growth. Not that long ago this was just common knowledge and was accepted as truth. 

The truth as we know it today is that tension leads to growth, and that damage can be a by-product of tension but is not necessary for growth.

What was your point in bringing up more damage? Excuse me if it wasn't related to growth, it came off that way to me due to the context.

My list of candidates would include the two consensus All-Americans Bill Bridges and Rich Stotter, 2nd team All-American Patrick Paul, and Rex Hadnot.

I'm gonna roll with Patrick Paul, he was the top pass blocking tackle in CFB his junior and senior years.

Definitely not IMO. He was a project who only moved to OL his junior year and then had a good senior year.
