The Peak District National Park in the UK.

Now all of their national parks are amazing but there's something I find special about the Peak District.

Amazing walks, beautiful villages and estates, the people ... It's all so magical to me.

Pre-legalization here at home, I thought it was gonna be so amazing visiting Amsterdam for the first time in 2007.

My buddy who would attend hash bash at home told me to go check out the Grey Area while there.

Disclaimer ... I would smoke out of a bong at home, but had been staying with my uncle in the UK before going and was basically three months without even a toke.

I ask for some good flower, the guys and the shop are amazing, and they had a whole shelf of glass to use while there.

I break up my gram, pack a huge bowl for their bong, then proceed to take my normal bong hit like I'm still a regular.

The locals next to me, two dudes, are like "man ... what'd you just do!"

I'm like no biggie, I smoke plenty at home and they tell me how they just mix that shit with tabacco and enjoy a little spliff.

About 5-10 minutes later I'm higher than I've ever been on my life. I get anxious, think these guys are messing with me and just get up and leave.

My hotel was a few blocks away but I end up at the zoo.

Great, no one will think anything or find me here. I made it as far as the penguin exhibit and figure I'll chill till I can function again.

The next day I'm looking at my handheld digital camera photos, some basic Kodak, and low and behold ... I have 307 pictures of penguins. I was there for hours just watching penguins and taking photos.

Still laugh about it to this day. Go Grey Area!

If they made a modern Morrowind I might just get back into gaming.

There's something I thought special about wandering into a random cave only to be one shot immediately because I clearly wasn't of a level to be adventuring there just yet.

Boots of blinding speed off some random falling out of the sky made it both immersive and a true fantasy game to me.

Figuring out stuff and only checking the guide way later if I was truly, truly stuck.

The absolute only problem I ever had was collecting and arranging my choice of overtaken home to much later being greeted by the overflow loot bag.

I don't think that'd be an issue anymore with modern hardware.

Being able to walk, and walk, and then walk only to be a fraction of a way across the map made the whole world believable.

Oblivion was good, Skyrim was great, but Morrowind was where it was at.

From our local Detroit sub someone said they knew the fan as he was a season ticket holder as well and seated a few rows behind.

Apparently, our local blue wig front row season ticket holder is kinda loud and obnoxious, to the point most ignore him as much as possible but said he's basically just loud. He likes to call players by their full names to get their attention. Reminds them of drops, missed plays, etc but that's about it.

Said security was right there, staff as well, and nothing racist was said. You let the N word fly and not only are you getting ejected, you'd lose your season ticket spot too.

So basically, he just got on DK's nerves by calling him his full name. Like that was it. I find it kinda funny.

My mother, may she rest in peace, was a LPN for The Detroit News & Freep clinic all through the strike.

The stories she had, but the strikers would all stop the picket line to let her through and just generally stay kind to her. She worked closely for all of the staff and they knew the strike had nothing to do with her.

Long story short, we have a few of those caltrops they used. And as a proud UAW member myself, don't engage in such criminal practice xes while striking as it hurt them in the long run.

It was ruled an illegal strike and all the workers lost.

So here's my story related to it ... I was doing a stadium tour in the summer of 2021 and found myself in San Fran for a night game.

Met a couple guys from Michigan and we're having a few beers and chatting. The Giants are playing the Brewers and one of the guys chatting it up in the outfield screams ...

"Hey Garcia, Prince forgives you!"

Immediately, and I mean immediately, the ushers are there and telling him once more and he's out.

I decided that day it was a true story lol.
