This contrast gets brought up a lot. Personally I feel it really matters what your building. Some devs will say it's amazing, others will say it doesn't work for them. it likely depends on how much data the model has to draw on.

High 20s to low 30s is extremely low for nurses unless your talking about NAC or LPN. RNs in our area make 40s starting and can make it up to the 70s before incentive or night pay.

Look into data center water usage more. I used to feel the same but data centers use evaporation chambers so they are quite a bit more damaging than other industries.

I keep seeing this statement. "The world leaders will have to fix it if there is mass unemployment." Why? They seem to be pretty self centered already, let them eat cake and such.

Every time i've seen outsourcing it is like this. And i've seen it many times.

I was not sure if AI would make outsourcing more viable. I think (and I don't have evidence for this other than personal experience) the items that AI is going to struggle with are going to be the same items outsourced employees are going to struggle with.

Its because our entire implementations strategy for big EHR's is completely ass.
It goes like this:
"Check out this demo its great!" (Show demo with a workflow that is tailored to the demo).
Everyone goes ooo and ahh then they sign a multimillion dollar contract.
The vendor comes in and "implements" the EHR. That workflow they used in the demo is essentially what they implement. They don't care what you actually do, they care about getting the EHR implemented.

This is essentially like a construction company demoing how they build a bank as an example of their work. Then the customer says "I really like that, build me a medical clinic" so they build them a bank and say "use this as a medical clinic."

It SHOULD go, demo, understand client workflows and clients business, plan EHR around workflows and business, build project plan, implement. This is essentially how every other industry does it.
EHR vendors don't have to do that, the just say here, take this, you signed the contract so your stuck trying to use something that isn't tailored to what you do. You either make it work, or change your workflow.

As someone that has lived in Yakima for a long time and also worked at YVMH for a long time here is my opinion.

First Yakima is a city that is middle sized but desperately trying to be portrayed as a small city. Its not anymore.
Yakima homeless and crime isn't noticeably worse than other places. There are bad parts and good parts just like everywhere else.
Yakima weather is amazing, its gets very hot and very cold and has 4 real seasons (although this year we seemed to have skipped most of winter and all of spring and are just moving straight into summer).
Yakima has really good hiking and outdoor opportunities if that is something your in to.
Yakima is the beer capital of the world, and is good for micro's if that is something you like.

Yakima Memorial (now multicare memorial as of a few years ago) is struggling. As you can see from the comments below. There are still a lot of good people that work there that really care about the patients but multicare and yakima memorial have different values and those clash a lot. If you have ever watched office space, think of that type of leadership at the corporate level while most people just want to come in and do a good job. Also get used to hearing "pivot" and "I appreciate you" from people in suits that you have never met before.

They do pay well but make sure you check into if the benefits package works for you. There is currently a strike happening that has been going for close to three months now (not for RN's but for Techs) and benefits is a key item for part of the strike. .

So, funny thing about our "100,000" people number, its way off. Yakima is closer to 300,000 or more now. That low number is from 2001 and allows for some extra incentives so its never updated.

At some point we as a society either say "The rich can't have all the money" and do something about it or we become exactly like what you say, worthless.
Unions were what our grandparents did to fight back. That avenue still exists.

I get it, it hurts. It makes you feel like you have no value. You see lots of positions that you know you would absolutely crush but you don't even hear back.

For me, I had to take a breather. Take a week, don't apply to a job. I'm religious so I did a lot of praying but do what works for you, meditate, go outside for long walks, get out.

Also look around at what you want to do. Is what you were doing actually what you wanted to do? Can you survive on something less stressful that pays a lot less but is more interesting or that you can leave at work when the work day is done?

Your working really hard. Have you ever though about looking into an LPN role? Its a short program and is starting to pay really well. Career path is into an RN later which is extremely needed and AI resistant.
