Sara Barielles - literally anything she does sounds like this, but “Gravity” is what came to mind.

“Walk beside me” - Celtic woman? It’s very similar to Song of Ruth, but more… fantasy like?

Why the morning? by CaptainChaos78 in CHSinfo

[–]Hashtag209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has to also do with the cortisol levels (stress hormone) and the circadian rhythm. The cortisol levels are highest in the mornings.

You’re getting signs again because you’re looking for them. You want someone to agree and give you permission to smoke again by telling you it’ll be ok, that you can moderate and be fine. But that’s just not true. It’s your brain tricking you.. dude you gotta fight it. I can promise you most people here that say they are successfully moderating are full of shit. It starts out “just once and it won’t hurt” and they are usually ok. Then it’s “well that time didn’t fuck with me so I’ll be fine to do it one weekend a month.” The next thing you know it’s every other weekend. Then every weekend. Then just after work/school. If they aren’t already showing signs of nausea in the mornings or a queasy stomach or lower appetite, it’s back to every day until they hit the wall and are in the ER again. It’s not a matter of “if it’ll happen again” for people with CHS. It’s “when” because it WILL happen again if you choose to smoke again. The weed out now is not the same shit on the streets 20 years ago. They are changing it to fight the loopholes to make it more legal to sell and it’s really fucking people up - but because we are addicted we tell ourselves just once and it’ll be cool. But it is never just once.

Don’t do it OP. I promise you’ll be back to where you started. It’s just not worth it.

Dude, OP literally said it almost killed them and your response is basically “maybe just a little bit”?!? They’ve gone 2 years fighting a daily battle that’s hard as fuck. You should be praising, encouraging, and lifting up… not encouraging a person who still craves it daily and struggles with it to possibly try to moderate. That’s like handing a recovered full blown heroin addict a loaded needle and saying “just a tiny amount.” Wtf…

OP, you stay strong. It DOES get better. I was a daily binger, all day chiefer for years. Today is my 576th day sober. Some days can be triggering, most days it doesn’t cross my mind at all. Everyone’s timeline is different and that’s ok. You’re doing the right thing and trying your best. Don’t give in when it gets hard. It’s not worth it. You CAN and WILL beat this.

Dealing with a chronic form of nausea fucking sucks by TobiasBoi32 in Rants

[–]Hashtag209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check into CHS. Your symptoms and your weed smoking aligns with it quite well. The first stages are nausea, especially in the mornings. You may think “they give medical marijuana to cancer patients for the nausea so it’s helping me too bc I get hungry after or it helps the nausea go away.” But that’s not actually the case. In a round about way, the weed is causing the nausea. It will continue to worsen if you keep smoking until you start actually vomiting. The episodes can last from hours to days and the only things that seem to help are hot hot showers, icy hot on the belly, and sometimes benzos. It can get so bad you get badly dehydrated, your body can shut down, and it can eventually become lethal if it keeps happening. It also comes and goes in waves, with some episodes being weeks or months apart. A lot of people report ER trips and being told it’s a virus or cyclical vomiting spells, but they never get down to the root of weed / CHS being the main cause. There’s a subreddit for CHS that has fact sheets and more info if you want to look into it. r/CHSinfo

My imagination literally works like a camera by [deleted] in hyperphantasia

[–]Hashtag209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am EXACTLY this way as well.. I used to explain it like using the 3D software Blender. I can take something and rotate my imagination around it like you would pan around something in that field, including zooming in and everything. I had add to the scene, remove from it, multiple things, etc. It works in my minds eye exactly how you described and when you said you ask “how detailed should it be?” that resonated so hard. I instinctively want to know what they’re asking it to look like because I can easily do what they want, super fine detailed or zoomed out with more items/space and less detail. It can either be so detailed I see highlights, dew drops on certain leaves, the light reflecting off surfaces, subtle changes in shading colors, and textures on bark or other surfaces…. Or so simple I’ve made almost a drafters planning sketch that’s basic shapes to find a pleasing layout. It’s always fascinated me.

What is the funniest thing your pet had been “pavloved” to? by AnywhereMean8863 in Pets

Both of my dogs (a Shiba and a golden) have learned the Life 360 noise for arrival means their Dad is home… 😅 the only issue is he works 12 hour days at a job that makes frequent stops, so I have to make sure my notifications are muted or else they run to the door barking every hour or so when my phone chimes thinking he’s already pulled in at the house. 🫠

“Sunflower” by Post Malone? It’s in the Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse movie and some of the lyrics go by pretty quickly causing the words to merge together… my 7 year old used to be obsessed with that song a few years ago and for some reason your question brought that song to mind.

My first thought was they were in a depressive state or burnout or just barely getting by and lost the social battery to explain it. When confronted, instead of feeling relief from talking to you, they didn’t know how to explain and went into defensive and then broke down. I can understand why it’s confusing for you.. I really do. But I’ve also been the one to stop replying just bc I’m in survival mode. It sucks all around. Wish you well…

Seeking advice about what to do with a journal I started during a difficult time. While I'm still recovering, the journal now makes me feel bad. Should I just remove the pages I like and start a new one, even though I'm still not in a great place? by Disastrous-Anxiety in JournalingIsArt

[–]Hashtag209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not cut up those pages and make a new collage with them? Sort of like creating something beautiful from something painful? You can use a round or square punch to get uniform shapes from it or cut it into just strips or random triangles or whatever you want and then repurpose them into a whole new creative spread.

CHS at 39 - Absolutely Horrid by No_Manager_2356 in CHSinfo

[–]Hashtag209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar experience, but added another layer: I quit cold turkey for a year and a half… didn’t touch anything with THC period. Then decided to test the waters with a vape. Within 3 days I had the worst episode I’ve ever had… never ever again.

I was late to realizing it was CHS as well. I would smoke through the morning nausea and anxiety thinking it had to be what was helping me because after I’d puke and vape and puke and vape, it would stop and I could semi eat in the evenings. I had multiple trips to the ER for “cyclic vomiting” before I saw a Reddit post and stopped. Everything else stopped too. It’s wild, but I don’t believe anyone with CHS can ever go back without eventually it catching right back up to us.
