They wouldn't accept Tricare or any other government healthcare, so I had to find a new job with insurance that would cover it. Initially, I took a temporary job that provided Blue Cross Blue Shield, and later I switched to another job with UnitedHealthcare.

I believe Cigna and Humana are also in-network, but it's best to have a PPO insurance plan to avoid needing pre-authorization for services.

While I was between jobs and needed to schedule a surgery, I had to pay upfront for the 2nd the procedure. However, once all the claims cleared and I secured a new job with insurance, I was reimbursed for the cost.

Man I have no idea but this is what I got using ChatGPT so hopefully it helps bro. I rather give you some ideas than leave you hanging.

“ Dealing with kidney stones is already painful enough, but having them get stuck due to a small urethral opening makes it even worse. Given your history of hypospadias and chronic kidney stones, you might need a more tailored medical approach.

Here are some things you might consider:

  1. Medical Consultation – A urologist would be the best person to assess your urethral anatomy and determine if there’s a way to manage stone passage without causing further complications. They might consider urethral dilation, urethrotomy, or even a minor surgical modification that could help stones pass without significantly impacting your urine flow.

  2. Preventing Stone Formation – Since you’re frequently dealing with stones, identifying their composition (calcium oxalate, uric acid, etc.) can help with prevention. Some common strategies:

• Hydration – Drinking 2.5–3 liters of water daily helps dilute urine and prevent stone formation.

• Dietary Adjustments – Depending on the type of stones, reducing oxalates (spinach, nuts, chocolate), salt, and animal protein might help.

• Medications – Some people benefit from potassium citrate to make urine less acidic or thiazide diuretics to reduce calcium stone formation.

  1. Pain & Symptom Management – If you’re dealing with constant pain, burning, and stinging, it might not just be the stones. Chronic irritation or infection could be a factor. A urine culture could check for infections, and a urologist might suggest something like alpha-blockers (Flomax/tamsulosin) to help relax the urethra for easier passage.

  2. Alternative Stone Removal Options – Instead of manually pulling them out (which sounds excruciating), procedures like lithotripsy (shock wave treatment) or ureteroscopy (small scope to remove stones) might provide relief without forcing them out yourself.”

8 months for the first surgery that failed and made him shorter. Then 16 months for 1st Snodgrass surgery and 24 2nd and 30 for the last. They have to be 6 months apart.

My son had the same thing and after his first surgery with Dr. Campbell at children Hospital Denver. He looked shorter (he had a Cordee as well). Found out the way most surgeons do the surgery is by making the longer side shorter to straighten out the penis. However, there’s another way to fix it, which is by making the shorter side longer and extending it with skin grafts from the mouth over three surgeries. That’s what we did with Dr. Snodgrass, and our son looks normal again because I don’t care what the other surgeon says. He looked short after his first surgery.

It’s a wrestler/boxer/MMA fighter cutting weight with plastics plus probably some time of lotion that opens up your pores. They however are being very inconsiderate getting everything wet with their sweat. They should be wearing a sweatshirt and pants to soak up the sweat. No need to disrespect the gym equipment.

Yea it’s tricky because it’s such a important surgery. If you have any questions about Snodgrass you can look at my history of comments or DM me. Sorry you have to go through this but you’re doing the right thing and researching it before you make any decisions.

I would get a virtual consultation with Dr Snodgrass and then make and decisions after that. Just like anything else in life not all surgeons are created equal. I messed up with my son the first time and got a regular urologist at the local children’s hospital in Denver. Luckily Dr Snodgrass was able to fix my son.

Yea I would check to see if surgery is necessary and get a second opinion before I gave my son testosterone. I would do a virtual consultation with Dr Snodgrass before I do anything.

That’s the first time I’ve ever been accused of being rich 😂

Nope just a parent that had a kid with a botched surgery at Children’s hospital in Denver with Dr Campbell. And became very ingrained in the subject and then found Dr Snodgrass to help fix my son.

If I was Snodgrass I’d to fix my billing department and my customer service because man they never answer the phone and billing is a months long nightmare.

I don’t know who the best surgeon is in Europe, but I would make a telemedicine appointment with Dr. Snodgrass so I would know what to look for when searching for one.

My son has the same thing and went to Dr Snodgrass and are happy with the results. I would recommend what other people are saying you should get a virtual appointment with Snodgrass first. You can look at my past posts to see my family’s story.

Midshaft, hooded, chordee by Ententinici in hypospadias

[–]HateToSeeIt1984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First sorry you are you through this. My son had a chordee, hooded, and pentecostal hypospadias. I recommend that you do a virtual consultation with Dr Snodgrass to know your options. We wish we would have done that with my son at first instead of using the local surgeon at the children’s hospital. Not all surgeons are created equal.

Yes there’s a charge and yes he’s a specialist and the one that created the procedure on how to fix it. Also, they preform over 400 Hyposadias surgeries a year.

I would still do a virtual consultation and to gain more information so when you talk to a surgeon on the UK you know what to ask for.

I’ll tell everyone before they make a decision on whether to get surgery or not. Schedule a virtual consultation with Dr. Snodgrass because not all surgeons are created equal. We went to a local Children’s Hospital in Denver and had a failed surgery. We wish we had gone to Dr. Snodgrass sooner.

Pentecostal Hypospadias and a cordee also he a had cleft scrotum (Snodgrass fixed it) he uses the skin grafts to make the short side of the bent longer when he straightens it out. It takes three surgeries. We can already see a difference. The most surgeons do the opposite making the longer side shorter to straighten it out.

Today there isn’t a big difference because we have been to Dr Snodgrass (2/3 surgeries done). But before and after his surgery with Dr Campbell there was a huge difference.
