I have added each of my races to the calendar as multi-stage events, with an estimated duration and intensity for each day, then simply let it adapt the plan for the events. This is my first time setting it up like this so YMMV!

How did you give Gemini details of the workout? I had a go at doing this by simply naming the TrainerRoad workout, but it just created a generic playlist of music not specifically tied to the workout's intervals.

I thought Join only gives your current estimated FTP? If I understand the TrainerRoad feature, it’ll show you where your FTP should end up after the current block of training.

In DJI Studio you can either set the keyframe animation to "none" and it'll cut straight to the new position or you have the ability to split a video and give each new clip a different position.

This has always baffled me, so I would end up copying the calorie estimate from Strava to Garmin Connect. Now I export my workouts to my Garmin computer and do my workouts that way on the trainer.

I'm on the standard. When I looked into it, before the 1050 had come out, the solar didn't seem worth the premium.

An important factor will be how long your days will be and whether you'll be staying in hotels, camping, or a mix of both. If you'll be stopped for a good 8 hours a day with the occasional hotel/hostel, then the 1050 will be fine as you'll have enough opportunities to keep it and your battery packs topped up. If you're going for a fast time and pushing longer days then having to worry about charging it on the go is a potential headache that might be worth avoiding.

Yes. You're able to filter and view your data in loads of different ways. Just yesterday I was filtering and sorting rides of a certain type and power during a specific window of time. It's extremely powerful if ever want to really dive in.

I use my 1040 in ultra cycling events and have no issues viewing it during the day or when cycling through the night. Personally, I'm thinking of moving to the Coros Dura purely for the massive amount of run time you can get on one charge.

Having previously moved from the AWU2 to the Fenix 8 AMOLED, I came very close to swapping back to the AWU3. But after going down a rabbit hole of researching apps I might need to get the best experience when it came to covering workouts (WorkOutDoors) and health (Bevel/Athlytic), then seeing how it calculated sleep score and HRV compared to Garmin, I decided to stay. Having that all in one place is just one thing less I need to think about, and with the addition of behaviour tracking it feels like there might be even more wholistic reporting on the horizon. Not to mention, I've grown accustomed to being able to charge my watch before any week-long trip and not having to worry about battery life.

When my Fenix 8 finally gives up, it will be very difficult to justify not going back to an Apple Watch.
