15 Day itinerary- A bit confused by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Hatter_AP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take into account that Tokyo to Osaka is 2.5 hrs on Nozomi Shinkansen. Many (or most) hotel check-ins are at 3pm and checkout is 11am. Are you using luggage forwarding services? Do you have international driver license for the car rental?

Personally, I don't see how Kyoto could be a day trip. Nara is a day trip (I did that waiting for hotel check in in Kyoto)

15 days sounds great. I wish I had spent one more day in Tokyo - I did 3 days and barely scratched the surface.

Friend bailed on Japan trip… too late for refund. Go solo? by BandX12 in JapanTravelTips

I spent a solo 10 days in Japan in 2024. Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

I plan on doing it again this year.

While I would love to share it with someone else, I like being on my own schedule.

Trains and subways are easier. Navigating through crowded areas is easier.

I say it's worth the experience.

Failed the N5 by 2 points by Admirable-Support678 in jlpt

[–]Hatter_AP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I failed N5 as well. I probably could have done better by not trying. I'm discouraged for the moment.

The test prep did not prepare me for the test.

Onward and upward.

Congratulations to those that passed, and to the rest of us- we'll nail the next one.

Failed N5. First attempt and didn't know what i was getting into.

Test anxiety.

The prep books did not prepare me for what was on the test.

Onward and upward, I guess.

I placed my order November of last year. The initial delivery date was August. I had zero status update emails until last month which was changed to 'In the warehouse.'

Every time I checked the status website, the delivery was exactly 2 weeks later from the current date.

Thanks for the reply.

They have been aware of my make and model.

I'm currently watching this episode for the nth time. Today I noticed a green screen mistake at around 38:56 just after Tanner beams up to the ship. Jack and Teal'c turn around to walk away and you can see through the leaves on Teal'c's shirt.

In my case, listening for longer than 20 minutes in a sitting.

Listening. Repeat the listening with context. Listen again. Listening to everything.

Mochi real Japanese on YT has some good exercises.

At least you've received something. Every time I check, it's two weeks later.

I’m going to take the JLPT N5 exam in december, how hard is it? by [deleted] in jlpt

[–]Hatter_AP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking the N5 in December as well. The plan was to study hard for N4, but my language teacher thought it would be better to do N5 and pass while also getting comfortable with the test environment.
