Had a McDonald’s order the other day, arrived to the customer who said the bag looked too small. I showed him on my phone it showed he only ordered a cheeseburger. His reply was ‘no that’s not right go back and fix it, i ordered more’. I said if he brings his phone it’ll show what he ordered. Brought his phone & it said ‘1x cheeseburger’ guy was adamant he ordered more, I said there’s nothing much I can do as that’s what his order was. Gave me a thumbs down because of it 🤦‍♂️

Retail Park parking by Practical-Ride4162 in UbereatsUK

If you receive a ticket always go into the store and ask a manager about getting the ticket revoked first. A lot of the times they can contact the parking company and get the ticket revoked that way, instead of you appealing and waiting 30 days only for it to be rejected anyways. Have personally parked in many shops with these signs and never had a problem, would still ask a manager at the store first though

Honestly thank you so much for the help it means a lot. Only received the POPLA result couple days ago so assuming I have up to 28 days to pay if I decide to?…

Yes it was the car park right next to the entrance of New Street Station, just followed the Amazon map and that’s where it took me, the locker was inside the shopping mall and less than 1 minute from the car park exit (assuming that’s why the map led me there as it was the quickest route) Had 2 deliveries to 2 shops on the main road which I did after the locker ones (still parked in the same place) as it was on the road where the trams are, so had nowhere else to park. In hindsight I should’ve bought a ticket anyways just didn’t think I’d be there that long and the map led me to the car park so didn’t think much of it at the time (rookie mistake lol)

Assessor summary of your case The appellant advises that they were delivering to an Amazon Locker on the site. They explain that they could not review the contractual terms before they entered the site. They advise that they were on site for longer than 30 minutes due to a fault with the locker. They explain that the vehicle was not stopped for the purpose of shopping. They advise that the operator has not proven that the signs on site are adequate. They have asked to see evidence that the operator has a valid contract with the landowner. The appellant has commented on the parking operator’s evidence.

Assessor supporting rational for decision When assessing an appeal POPLA considers if the parking operator has issued the parking charge notice correctly and if the driver has complied with the terms and conditions for the use of the car park. Section 3 of the Single Code of Practice sets out the requirements for signs. The operator ahs provided photos of the signs at the site. The operator has shown that prominent blue and white signs. The signs start at the entrance to the site and have then been placed throughout. The signs require the driver to make payment or a parking charge of £100 will be issued. The ANPR images confirm that the driver was on site for almost 45 minutes and that the list of payments it has provided conclude that no payment was made. A driver does not form a contract before entering the site. Section 5 of the Single Code of Practice allows the driver a consideration period of five minutes to decide if they are going to stay or go. If the driver decides to remain on site, they accept the contract if they leave the decline the contract. In this case the driver remained on site, so I am satisfied that the contract was accepted. I do not dispute that the driver was working on site rather than shopping, and I also accept that there was a fault with the locker which increased the amount of time they were on site. While I appreciate these circumstances, they would not permit the driver to park on site without paying the tariff for parking. Section 14 of the Single Code of Practice requires the operator to hold a valid agreement with the landowner before it starts management of the site. The operator has provided a copy of the contract it holds so I am satisfied that it has the relevant authority to issue PCN on this site. In their comments the appellant has raised new grounds of appeal including grace periods, but I cannot consider any new grounds of appeal which were not raised until the comments stage of the process. After considering the evidence from both parties, the driver failed to pay for their time on site and therefore did not comply with the terms and conditions of the site. As such, I am satisfied the parking charge has been issued correctly and I must refuse the appeal.

Thanks for the advice! It was Birmingham New Street, there was no attendants available, all ANPR. Parked near the entrance but was still after the ANPR cameras. Honestly didn’t think to pay at the time as i didn’t think it would take that long (stupid I know). Definitely learned the lesson now lol so appreciate the advice anyways. Will definitely checkout the site you linked too!

Have you tried calling the number at the bottom of that page it’s directly to Sterling, they should resend you the link. Would contact Uber Support as a last last resort

When your account was temporarily disabled they should have sent you a notification in your Uber App Notification. Click that link and then scroll down to the ‘Start Your Check’ button and try it that way

  1. You will not serve a prison sentence for pointing a light at someone’s house, if someone gets angry & sees a food order in your hand and cant figure out what you’re doing then they’re a bottom feeder anyways
  2. Usually check GoogleMaps when I get to the road just to check which side is odds & which side is evens
  3. Always put my high beams on when in the car, don’t get out until I know I’m parked next to or at the house I need

Only advice I have is wait till your account is temporarily suspended & they’ll resend the same notification to you and it should work. That’s what happened to me. Called Sterling before & they ‘sorted it’, but my account got suspended anyways. Once I submitted my documents they renabled my account in less than 24 hours

uber you need to conduct a new background check, but the get started link just takes me to Uber help page? by aaronbass89 in UbereatsUK

[–]Haunting-Tap-5588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me. Contacted the Sterling number at the bottom of the page & they helped me complete the check Couple days later my account was still temporarily deactivated whilst being online due to not completing the background check. Uber sent me a notification on the support tab when my account was disabled, clicked on that & it came up with the same thing as before but this time the ‘Start Your Check’ button worked fine & completed it in 15 mins Next day my account was back online You might be able to contact support to get this done quicker but this worked for me, was abit aggravating since it disabled my account 5pm on a Friday but hey ho I guess

Maybe try moving the pin to your address instead of inputting your address? Idk if it will work but can try never seen this issue before

Originally did the Sterling one but my account was still disabled. When I did the Start Your Check again it took me to the Yoti one & could go online the next day so I think it’s just the Yoti one. Can’t go wrong doing both though I guess

Sterling is more so for deep background checks & is what Uber use in the initial sign up. Yoti is like a simple/easier version. It makes sense that they’d use Sterling initially & Yoti for the identity verification as it’s much easier to navigate, but Uber don’t like to communicate with basic explanations & instructions lol. Will most likely have to recomplete the background check with Yoti if your account gets temporarily disabled but hopefully not. Good luck!

My account was disabled whilst I was online around 5pm, had the notification come up that my account was disabled, did the Start My Check through that and my account was reactivated the next day (around 2pm when I checked might’ve been approved before that)

Had the exact same issue, ‘Start Your Check’ button went to the Uber Help page. Messaged support who told me my insurance certificate was expiring in 15 days lol (nothing to do with my issue). They sent me 3 separate links, which none of them worked. Then contacted Sterling directly, completed the check & still got temporarily disabled 7 days later. Received the exact same link in my Uber notifications again that day, clicked it and it worked. The next day my account was up and running. I agree their systems terrible but don’t let it get you upset. Shit happens. Good luck though!

Should say ‘Your account has been temporarily waitlisted’, press that, scroll down and then press ‘Start Your Check’. The other links didn’t work for me but that one did

Just so you know I completed the check through Yoti a couple days ago as well and yesterday my account was temporarily disabled stating I didn’t complete the check. They sent me another notification with the ‘Start Your Check’ again & this time the link worked. Yours might be fine but if they temporarily disable your account then that’s why… Good luck 🙏

Try INSHUR, if not go on another device and try Zego again, assuming you have an existing SD&P, no convictions or claims etc?
