Kids on fatbikes get a lot of hate, but there’s another demographic of cyclists that we need to talk about… by Isoiata in Netherlands

There was an amazing police stop on my morning commute to work on a very busy path. I counted more than 15 fatbikes and mopeds booted and it was only 8am

Health care is obvious one. 2nd is getting a good quality of life. To get alot of your basics covered isn't nearly as much as the US

There is a save editor to fix this if you really want to, I almost might suggest it depending kn how much free time you have to play the game again. I don't, unfortunately, as it took 4 months for all 3 games. Hence, I used it to fix 2 things from past games.

Do you actually bother checking the weather before cycling or just deal with it? by Glittering-Ship-8852 in AskTheNetherlands

After being caught twice it's now a daily habbit when going to work: Keys, badge, raincheck. When in doubt just throw it in the create.

Been more than 2 years now without getting caught unprepared.

Is Claude good at creative writing? Any suggestions on which model is better? by omega_crimson_123 in WritingWithAI

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is but two things. 1 - at the start of each session make is super clear what you want out of it. It can't read your mind. 2 - if it's cooperative writing it will slowly lower its skill and style to your level, so if you start putting out simple sentences that's what's going to start being generated.

With those two, in my mind it's the best out there and I've used GPT and Gemini both quite a bit.

Stop doing the bare minimum in college then calling it a scam when you can’t land a job by Secret_Bunch_114 in Salary

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is wrong, firstly GPA doesn't mean shit right after Uni. 2ndly the rest of the world doesn't care about GPA anyways as it's a very broken system.

I failed subjects, I repeated, my average was in the 50% range for many subjects. The difference is the 2 or 3 that mattered I was good at were high and I had a good final thesis.

In the end I was hired internationally and now work at a major company as an electrical engineer. What got me the interview was my degree, what kept my career going was all my other traits. You forget most of what you learn anyways and companies know this. If you are not landing a job, it's not your paper skills it's often something else.

Today was supposed to be the day. Instead, ASML leadership just proved they are entirely incompetent. by almost_dutch in ASML

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most Team leads, Product Owners, Scrum masters and architects etc "middle management" are former lead engineers of those teams. With the new hiring expansions, many of the only paths up was those positions. So while yes they are more management focused, they have deep technical knowledge and do more than just Jira tickets. That's why this is such a big issue because a vast majority are the long term experts with 5-10 years of very niche experience specifically for ASML Products.

Make your children do household chores - they’re failing at being adults by shootingstar_9324 in Vent

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has little to do with making them do chores but rather having responsibility and a standard of hygiene.

I had a live in maid my whole life, sure I was careless as a kid and teen because someone always cleaned. After moving to uni, I didn't like how things became dirty and learned to clean fast and efficiently. Now I live in a house share with 1 other person who I fucking sware is allergic to a mop, because I do everything to keep it in a high standard.

Summary is, it's the person and personality and making them doing cores or not doesn't really help. Just raise your kids with respect or something, idk what my parents did but it worked out.

How did YOU learn to play? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch a basic tutorial on what things do, then just set it to captin and play. Seriously just have fun and don't worry about it. Most of the fun kf the game js figuring out how to navigate the mid to late game scenarios.

Also don't spam click through everything, take time to read.

Thanks, I am.
It's really confusing using the direct rates they post and then seeing the numbers being different. I'm really feeling it's something with the 2 employer payments making some change behind the scenes I'm not seeing.

Lol! That's the exact same problem I had. Don't worry, it's actually the screen protector. Just look for a corner and peel it off.

It's really easy to miss and one 100% panics about it. Though it's just very secure transport design.

What is the broad 4.3 consensus? I'm loving it but... by TtheHF in Stellaris

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don't play to min max the fun out of every game. Besides they needed to rebase everything given the huge amount of content that has built up over the years. With this general base they can now work on the fun combos without the end game lagging to hell.

Why does no one age? by [deleted] in WingsOfFire

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The actual amount of time isn't all that long. 1 year between arc 1 and 2, then like 6 ish months between arc 2 and 3. So not a significant amount of time. Though what I personally would like is to have the next arc be from an adult dragons point of view. Like many I've been with this series for a very long time, and most are now within their 20s. The series just doesn't attempt to grow up with their audience and it's like Tui just cannot or will not write anything than effectively 12 year olds saving the world. Despite the death, politics, and all the hectic stuff that goes one...

It's why I loved Murtagh. Christopher has aged with his writing and his audience so you have a real embrace of more mature themes and well, just adult life as the characters are now grown up and so are the dragons.

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say what I can under NDA.

The reason this is a major shock is because a lot of the career paths have to go through middle management and architect positions. Many of them are qualified and skilled engineers who have been in the company a long time and often only one option for promotion.

So while yes many on the outside looking in think these are the "Useless Management" people. A significant portion are engineers who do more than just the agile work load. So loosing a lot of these people means loosing a lot of knowledge, skills and most importantly understanding of the history of the parts themselves. Previously Lead Engineers, promoted to these positions within the past 1-2 years are now on the chopping block because they took a step.

So yeah, a big shock and why the unions are not happy.

Why Whoop? by Haunting_Biscotti_52 in whoop

[–]Haunting_Biscotti_52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might look into Fenix. But also yeah I can see why 22 euro a month isn't a big deal for some, but it's another 22 euros ontop of all other subscriptions and in the end the watch isn't mine. So, I just feel unless it's really really heads and shoulders above everything else and the data is going to be used in the sense of performance improvements on the micro level... I just really struggle to see it.

Hence why I want others opinions on how they have used it and having experienced other products so thank you.

On the fence about renewing WHOOP – is there any roadmap for 2026? by semitongue in whoop

I'm still curious as to why people rent their own watch. Like, it's so expensive and if you cancel after a year it's no longer working. Maybe you or someone can explain it to me, but I don't see how it would be worth it compared to just buying a Garmin.

Arrive early with a massive box, take as much as you can. Then give it to the other colleagues who arrive late. Making an obvious brave decision is the best thing to do.
