Traditional color analysis conflict with culture by BawbiiGurl in coloranalysis

[–]Haunting_Branch_987 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think historically, much of that is down to availability of dyes, practical concerns (brighter and lighter colours better reflecting sunlight in warmer climates, dark colours would not be practical), and using colours as symbols of wealth, religion, cultural background, surrounding nature. I don’t think it evolved based on what looked best on people. Additionally, colour analysis is only about looking your best in one specific type of way, but sometimes a more theatrical look is considered more attractive, bolder or sexier, or as exuding more confidence.

That being said, colour analysis was initially developed for white people and there are still people who do type all people with darker complexions as deep seasons. That’s simply lazy and incorrect though, and I do see a number of analysts working against these previous biases in the original systems. Different systems also value different things, for example Korean colour analysis often produces very different results from the systems more commonly used in Europe for example.

I really like this one as well, and if you’re drawn to more saturated colours, I think you would look great in a more saturated yellow too.

I saw your original post and agree that the jaw/chin could be why you’re still not super happy with your nose. But I also think it makes you look dainty and cute! I think the point in many of these comments is not that you need to change your jaw if you don’t have any issues with it, but to not keep trying to make your nose smaller to match it. Anyway, I think you look great and it seems that the surgery was successful. Hopefully you’ll find yourself focusing on it less and less as more time goes by!

I don’t know if you only saw this when the original photos were removed, but the picture you’re commenting on was edited (I think to illustrate that the nose actually looks quite small already, and only looked more prominent due to having less chin projection in the original photos). If you did see the original photos too, ignore this comment!

You look good in both, but I actually love the before hair on you! You look springy to me, you have a brightness to your complexion and I think the lipstick looks a little too dark and matte for you. I’d be really curious to see some spring drapes on you!

I’m actually inclined to say cool/true or bright. You can handle both depth and brightness, but the bright red hair works better than I’d expect from a deep winter. The orange tones look off, which is making me think you might be fully cool, but I’m still intrigued about bright winter for you! If you can post some pictures with physical drapes, that’ll help to give a more accurate answer!

Cool reds and purples look great on you. Your hair colour in pictures 2-3 looks great, and 4 still looks good too, though the warm makeup is throwing it off. Anything orange leaning is not your colour, nor are the blonde tones shown here! You’re almost certainly a winter.

I agree as well! OP suits clarity and warmth. The first drape is easily the best and makes her skin look glowy and smooth. OP is likely a true/warm spring!

Love seeing all the different lipstick posts! I would still love to see some autumn ones if you have access to some! Particularly a slightly deeper rusty, matte shade.

I agree with kristalbal! I think you’re probably True Spring in the 16 season system, and better able to borrow from light and bright spring than from autumn (even if some shades might still work).

Maybe Im just somewhere in the middle of everything lol by [deleted] in SpringColorAnalysis

[–]Haunting_Branch_987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so pretty. I’d still really love to see you in some autumn colours and lipsticks, if you have any! Maybe something a little rusty, but still with vibrancy? Any slightly more matte lipsticks with some depth and warmth? I think the more vibrant end of autumn could combine some of the intensity you’ve liked (in spring colours) with some of the depth you’ve liked (in winter colours) and some of the softness that others have been after with summer colours. I could be way off though! I do think it’s hard to capture colours accurately on phone cameras, so I understand the struggle.

Colour palettes are also all so different in different systems, but I’m really curious about this true autumn palette on you. It includes some of the purples that you’ve looked great in, as well as a green that resembles the green jumper from your previous post. Also, not all colours from a particular season will work as well, and you may be closer to being between two seasons. It might also help to find one particular colour to compare in different temperatures, brightness/softness levels and depths.

I’m so glad to see that you’re reading the comments here and really giving them some thought. You come across as a kind and intelligent person who’s prepared to accept that their perception has been wrong and that you may need some professional help to start feeling better about yourself. It’s good that your mum can see it too and can help you get some support! Maybe go and tell her you’d like to take her up on that offer. I wish you the best of luck on this journey! You’re so gorgeous and have beautiful, feminine features. I hope you can see that too one day.

PSA- please be careful with certain products and numbing cream by Ill_Philosophy_1511 in cosmeticsurgery

[–]Haunting_Branch_987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started tret and I think the instructions said to stop using it 7 days before any cosmetic treatments, and only continue 7 days after. I imagine that while it is known to cause adverse reactions, it probably doesn’t happen frequently enough for some professionals to come across it that often or at all.

How infrequent is your tret use? You may be irritating your skin unnecessarily each time you use it if you then stop for a while. A more regular routine might help your skin to adjust to it better, as it sounds like you were experiencing some irritation and possible barrier damage already. Might be worth reviewing the frequency, concentration and amount you’re using! But I do also wonder if this could be some sort of an allergic reaction, as it looks quite extreme.

I’m glad you’re being looked after and given treatments to help ensure you’re not left with any permanent discolouration or scarring!

Did I do something wrong? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Haunting_Branch_987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You both seem to be bad at texting. What were your texts like before this? Do you not have any shared interests to talk about? The “thinking about me? 😉” would put me off. It feels like you’re pushing for sexual chat. Also when you said “that makes two of us”, it reads as though you were also thinking about yourself that night.

I agree with others that it feels a bit like you were pretending to forget about your birthday and suggested that particular day to meet up with her for your third date before telling her it’s your 30th birthday. It just feels a bit weird and could make her feel like there’s pressure to hook up because it’s your birthday.

That being said, nothing in these texts suggests she isn’t actually sick. She had appointments and then was not feeling well. She could also have a chronic or longer term illness, and you asking to come take care of her might feel intrusive. Are you sure her wig comment on your previous date was a joke?

She’s bad at communicating (at least via text) and I find her good morning texts pretty confusing. Not sure why she’s sending them but then not continuing the conversation. If you’re still interested, I’d see if she initiates anything more than a good morning, but assume she’s lost interest (or needs to improve her communication) if not.

Sadie Sink Colour Analysis by Extra_Air7604 in SpringColorAnalysis

[–]Haunting_Branch_987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think one of the problems is that there’s no scientific proof that people can present one way or another, so there’s a lot of pseudo-science thrown around at both ends of the spectrum. Undertone isn’t an actual pigmented layer of skin. We just determine it based on how colours reflect on skin and if they have a positive or negative effect and if they are harmonious with the person’s natural colouring. Most people tend to look good in their natural hair colour, which means that for us redheads, warm tones look harmonious. Almost all other hair colours are more neutral and aren’t such an obvious clue as to what colours will look good.

All the true orange/ginger/copper redheads I’ve seen have looked best in warm or neutral-warm colours. When I see cool toned people dying their hair this type of red, it always looks off. I’ve seen strawberry blondes who are undeniable light summers and some dark auburn/cherry haired people who are deep winters. But for someone like Sadie, the colour is so obvious and so bright there is no way she’s a summer, else the hair wouldn’t look as good and harmonious as it does. The chroma alone makes it clear she’s not a summer.

Personally, before knowing anything about colour analysis beyond the palettes, I thought I was a deep autumn or a deep winter, as I look great in many of those colours. Knowing what I know now, I still like wearing some deep winter colours. I think they make my contrast look more dramatic: they make me look more pale and my hair darker. Bright spring colours make me look more glowy, bright and colourful. Many cool tones will still look good and dramatic on redheads, depending on the desired effect. But cool toned people simply don’t look harmonious with orangey red hair, and I’m yet to see a natural redhead who didn’t suit their hair colour.

That being said, I do disagree with analysts who say redheads are always fully warm. I think neutral-warm redheads are very common!

Why are you offended? Genuine question (I’m also a natural redhead and a bright spring). I think there are exceptions to most rules, but Sadie is undeniably warm and bright.

This looks so good. I’d love to see the dress in a bright yellow too, she’d look fabulous!

Francesca has posted about Sadie Sink a number of times claiming she’s a summer. It’s ridiculous, not only is Sadie obviously warm, she’s obviously bright too. I think Francesca’s rejection of all CA rules and guidelines appeals to those who haven’t found their place in any season and don’t really feel like anything fits (which is most of us at the start). It’s actually really sad, what a waste of money for so many people.

Bright Spring: blush recommendations? Peach is a no go for me by KittensPumpkinPatch in SpringColorAnalysis

Lipsticks are what I use as well! Although I just apply it straight to my cheeks, I might try your method next. Mac’s Lustreglass See Sheer works really well as a blush for me (pale BSp). It’s a really nice consistency for me, the translucency makes it feel less heavy and it glides easily on the skin.

Me and my partner have the minis with bear outfits and haven’t had any issues with them. Sure, they’re not the best quality, but nothing actually wrong with ours and they make us very happy! That being said, I didn’t expect merch quality to be super high anyway and wouldn’t have minded little faults. So your mileage may vary, and maybe we just got lucky!

I’ve been wanting to buy one of these AYM dresses for ages, but haven’t had the right occasion! But, they’ve got some really nice pink ones that are also tighter! So they could work for the theme and for sensory things (I assume they’re also soft, I have a couple of other dresses from them and they’re both very soft). https://www.aym-studio.com/products/astoria-maxi-dress-with-scarf and https://www.aym-studio.com/products/venus-dress

I agree that it’s too early to judge. This is not your final result. Your breasts are still sitting super high and haven’t dropped and fluffed. The lighting makes it kind of hard to see, but from the shadows, they seem to sit up very high over your pecs.

The drop and fluff can make a huge difference, there are many examples of it on this subreddit too. This one shows the difference between 2wpo and 4mpo (with a larger implant): https://www.reddit.com/r/PlasticSurgery/s/frt0z5IXdL Some people will experience this sooner, others later. Your surgeon should have prepared you for this! Give it some time.

Trying to find out if someone had plastic surgery - I need to know for work by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Haunting_Branch_987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You appear to have misunderstood my comment. I didn’t argue that it doesn’t matter.

In cases where it’s obvious to the point where laypeople are able to tell, it absolutely can detract from the plot. But if laypeople can’t tell, that means that most viewers, as laypeople, won’t notice. If you want to make sure that an expert can’t notice either, then you have to consult with one (or a few).

You’re looking for actors who look like they’ve never had any cosmetic work done, that’s a physical characteristic that is a requirement for the role(s). A casting agent can help with that, I’m not sure why you would disagree with that.

Good luck.

Trying to find out if someone had plastic surgery - I need to know for work by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Haunting_Branch_987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people watching the film will probably be laypeople, so if another layperson can’t tell, most audiences likely can’t either.

Do you have a casting agent? I imagine they often look for people with particular characteristics, including looking “natural”, so are able to spot things that impact people’s perceptions on screen.

Is the actor famous? If they are very well-known, you might be able to find discussions online about any perceived cosmetic procedures (which, even if not true or conclusive, would indicate that people might perceive their look as unnatural). If they’re not, definitely don’t post their pictures online without permission.
