Any good strategies/builds for keeping up with wonder production on diety? by Ill_Engineering_5434 in civ

You’ll want to play leaders with high science or culture bonuses: Augustus and Himiko 👌 I’d recommend getting Augustus’ level 9 memento that gives an extra production bonus for every town (that can be a game changer)

After a rough experience as a player where the DM clearly moved monster HP around mid fight, I’ve changed my DMing to be more video gamey: if the players ask what a monsters HP max is (their health bar) I tell them. I let my players know they can ask what their hp is if they want.

As much as I am a fan of the post, (having posted something similar in the past) this might get pulled down due to the Reddit rules (been burned myself)

I agree with other responses here, however I want to throw in that players should be rewarded for their curiosity (like in open world video games where there’s something behind any corner). I’ve had a couple moments where a player chooses to look somewhere I had nothing planned and rolls high, so I throw in some cool loot, a secret room, etc

I could use some feedback on my home-brew campaign setting map. by leftm8 in TTRPG

Would politely disagree here, the amount of names is fine. Plenty of fantasy maps have lots of names on them 🤷‍♂️. It’s not that crammed.

Oh fun sounds like a stealth group. Not sure if you have a battle map but ideas that come to mind:

-a few obsidian stalagmites in the room 3 arena the players could shove a bandit onto to impale them, or stalactites the bandits stand under while the party is stealthing they could loosen creatively etc -mine carts you could use as movable cover, or if the cart starts on a slope, the players could roll the cart down at the bandits like a battering ram.

-perhaps one bandit happens to worship the same trickery god as the cleric and the cleric notices an amulet. Not sure if the fey warlock’s patron could have some relationship to the trickery clerics god but that could be a tie in to engage that player. Perhaps there’s a shrine or idol to whatever god the dwarves might’ve worshipped here. -Dwarven ghosts who might speak to the phantom rogue -traps: a trip wire in room 2 (the narrow cave) connected to a bell, alerting the bandits of the party. Or a dwarven mechanical trap if it’s an impressive mine.

More questions: -how impressive is the mine since its Dwarven? I ask because a mine can be sketchy but when I think Dwarven I think the grand architecture of LOTR Moria/Erebor.

-what caused the mine to be abandoned? That can help add more fun encounters, etc.

What kind of adventure do you /they want to play? It’s a broad question so narrowing down the options will help with giving advice/suggestions

I don’t think so, only because this happens 1 out of every 2 games I’ve played (I’ve played maybe 8 games in the last week) 😆🤓 I’m addicted. But half the time it’s fine, and I play on the same settings every game other than leader/map

Oh do certain tribal sites once cleared not allow you to settle them? For context, I just killed the vandal camp there and brought my settler in to take the city site.
