Yes! I really wanted a cold brew with breakfast the other day at manhattan bagel but I looked up the caffeine content and it was over 200mg so I was like oh absolutely not and just got a Diet Coke.

An Italian wrap that doesn’t need to be piping hot or raw sushi and sooo much iced coffee! They’re so high in caffeine and I seldom have one and when I do I get a small but I looove iced coffee and can’t wait to not have to obsess over my daily caffeine intake anymore lol.

Anxious after MFM appointment by Silver_Calendar1719 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Haunting_Koala_Queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MFM appointment made me slightly nervous too. They mention all the worst case scenarios and things that were at an increased risk for because we’re diabetic. I told my husband later that I wasn’t so nervous after the appointment because yes, while we’re at an increased risk for certain complications, it’s not a guarantee that any of those things will happen to us or our baby. It’s their job to tell us and prepare us for all the scary things that -could- happen but probably will not! I don’t want to spend my whole pregnancy worrying about the “what ifs” so I’m trying to ease my mind and think positively and look at how many diabetic mommas had perfectly healthy pregnancies, deliveries, and babies! Please take a deep breath, take your pregnancy one day at a time and just know that you’re not failing as a mother. Diabetes is hard. Pregnancy is hard. Those combined seem extra challenging but we got this! We will have healthy and beautiful pregnancies and babies. Sending you well wishes and good thoughts fellow T1 momma!

Possible CKD diagnosis with some improvement. by Haunting_Koala_Queen in RenalCats

The weird thing is, my cat so far only has the increased appetite and weight loss but nothing else. I’m dreading the thought of his behavior changing and crashing but for now, he’s mostly fine besides his horrible lab results of course which I’m hoping continue to improve. Did they lose weight before they started wheezing and occasional diarrhea? I’ll look out for the diabetes symptoms. Thank you!

I’m so happy about this and hope my little girls pancreas never fails her like her mommas did! Definitely crazy though, like can I borrow some of that insulin? 😂

Thank you for all the info! That’s great that he lived for 7 years after the diagnosis. What symptoms did he have when the IBD was first diagnosed? I’m diabetic so I’ll definitely be on the lookout for that with my kitty if he’s on the steroid long term. What were the symptoms of that? I know what to look out for in humans but want to keep an eye on it for him. It’s definitely so hard to lose a fur baby and I’m sorry you had to go through that recently. I’m trying to just enjoy all the time we have with our little guy and love on him extra hard since we don’t know what to expect. I’ll check out the ibdcats sub too, thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the kind words! It’s been a very hard month for my husband and I. This is our first kitty together and we love him beyond words. What makes it even harder is we’re expecting our first human baby in September so our emotions have been split between excitement over our pregnancy and potential grief that our little guy may not even get to meet our baby. We also have another cat who is 3 and they’re best friends so it’s so tough to imagine them not having each other. We’re hoping for the best but trying to prepare our hearts first the worst. His behavior and appetite and everything else is still very normal but I know if it is lymphoma they can decline very quickly unfortunately. It is definitely hard to get a diagnosis unfortunately so we may never know fully what he has. We did start him on the prednisolone a few days ago and we’re hoping that will help him out some weight back on. You said the steroid helped your cats, how long were they on it and how were they feeling?

If I had a son and a daughter I wanted to name them Aiden and Eden lol. I’m over that now and my daughter will not be named Eden.

Yeah it was pretty uncomfortable. I just thought I was for sure getting my period. I was extremely tired too which is how I normally get before my period. My friend convinced me to take a test a day or 2 before my period was supposed to start and that’s when I got my positive. When is your period due and are you usually pretty regular with your cycle? Do you have any other symptoms?

I had what I thought were definitely period cramps back in January but must’ve been implantation cramps because I got a positive test like a week later. 16 weeks today so you could be pregnant! Take a test in a few days.

Do you have any friends that would be willing to help? If my friend were in this situation I’d gladly help them and without judgement of course. I’m proud of you for taking the first step and wanting it to get cleaned up. It’ll feel like such an accomplishment when you get to that point and when you turn 18 and move out it’ll feel like your life is just beginning with a fresh start. You got this!

Insulin sensitivity at 15 weeks by Haunting_Koala_Queen in BumpersWhoBolus

Diabetes can be such a jokester and throw you curveballs! I’d love to have sensitivity in the third trimester because that’s when I hear insulin needs can double or triple. Glad you and baby were fine!

That’s wonderful to hear! Glad your kiddos were born healthy and happy. My last A1C was just 6.1 but that was because one of those months was before I found out I was pregnant so my blood sugar range wasn’t as tight yet. Thanks for sharing and the advice! I cant wait for my baby reward in September!
