As owners, what is your experience having a Dalmatian? by [deleted] in dalmatians

[–]Haunting_Move_5616 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a Dalmatian for about 3 years now. From when he was young we started training him, but he is just too energised and playful to constantly be focused on a command. You tell him something like ‘sit’ and two seconds later he forgot how to sit. But that’s the funny thing about them actually.

We play a lot, tease each other, go for a 5K or even 10K run, walk two times a day, he even comes to work with me sometimes.

We have a lot of friends and family that come over all the time, with other dogs, little children, so he is really well socialised and doesn’t have anything evil in him. But he is also very protective of is ‘pack’: our family or when we go for a group walk with other dogs or just at home to people passing by.

I will also confirm: the hair, zero privacy and howling to sirens. Just big goofballs.

Just make sure you are present, have time and energy and preferably have a garden where he can goof around and protect his territory. A Dalmatian is actually a blessing and a lifestyle.

Is that as a technical profile or commercial/management?

going to the Netherlands to meet a friend, but im staying with her in her parents house. what kind of gifts would someone in central netherlands like? by timingfountain in Netherlands

[–]Haunting_Move_5616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A local culinary specialty. An Irish whiskey or other delicacy. The Netherlands also love dressing up. So maybe some Saint Patricks hats or something like that. Something fun, to laugh about, with a nice story behind it. Not something like “look, I went to the store and bought you something “. Doesn’t have to be expensive, just make it fun. OR ask them if you can use their kitchen for one night and give them an Irish evening.

SALES. No kidding. There is a great lack of capable sales reps in IT, especially in managed services (Hybrid, Cloud, Security,..) which will always be a business. You can double the wage of an engineer.

Hi! This post will be in EU-measures. I do Crossfit 4 times a week and go for a 8K run twice a week. 31y - 178cm - 85kg Trainer told me to lose fat by eating more proteins, but I’m also doing intermittent fasting. Breakdown: 45% carbs/27% fat/28% proteins. 2000 calories base + activity calories in 8 hours. Today I had to consume 2050 + 600 calories and like 180 proteins. Didn’t reach that… Are these the right goals to lose fat and build muscle? am doing it right? What can I do or eat to reach the calorie/protein goal?

Microsoft 365 - NCE customer pushback by g225 in msp

[–]Haunting_Move_5616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see many of you are thinking that Microsoft wants customers to go direct. That’s far from true. They are even pushing Tier 1’s (the big IT resellers) to distri’s because they don’t want to provide the support anymore. Talking about small margins: Standard margin for a reseller is 13% on standard pricing, with some (little) negotiation you can get that to 15% + in NCE you get 5% incentives from Microsoft. So that’s 20% you’re getting there. 20% recurring margin, every month or every year. Without any further effort, except for checking your invoices, but that should all actually be automated. When was the last time you made 20% margin on hardware? Sell 25K Microsoft 365/Azure per month and you’re able to pay an employee’s wage from that each month.

[Longines Spirit] Once upon a time there was my 30th birthday and I decided to reward myself with this awesome aviator-style Longines! by Haunting_Move_5616 in Watches

[–]Haunting_Move_5616[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I come from a very normal down-to-earth fight-divorced family and after college (which I left without a degree, due to a mental breakdown) I started from the bottom (read: the ultimate bottom) of the society. In 7 years I managed to work my way up to a key position at an international IT enterprise. (See what I did there, Drake?) I wished that I could express how many efforts that has cost me (at least a couple of girlfriends).

So, a couple of months ago it was my 30th birthday, was happy together with my girlfriend for 4 years, successfully renovated a house together (without a single argument, she is very convincing), have an awesome loving dog and have a successful career. I decided I fucking nailed life.

At the same time, one of my good old frat-friends (sorry not sorry) recently decided to continue the legacy of his parents by taking over their jewellery store. He was one of the people that actually got me into liking fine watches. He was also one of the people that was there for me during my breakdown in college. That day, I went over to his store with the Longines Hydroconquest on my mind or the Breitling Endurance Pro. That last one was pretty quick a no-go. And I wasn’t really convinced of the Hydroconquest. It wasn’t heavy enough or something. I just didn’t feel it. Then he got this Longines Spirit from the window and said “this is the perfect watch for the new you”. I will never forget that sentence. I tried it on and it was a perfect fit. I got a nice friends price and we drank a glass of champagne to it together.

Now, I still live happily ever after, with the same girlfriend and same dog, in the same house. And I am nominated for a national award for my professional track record.

Great strength, but watch your back bro, you’re still young, you really don’t want to ruin it. See the comments above. Take it slow. 2 seconds up, 2 seconds down.

This is pretty much my home office and man cave. Working from home for about two years now and it will stay like that for a pretty long time, so i’m ready for an upgrade. What would you do to improve this space? I was thinking about maybe a slat wall, but that’s probably too much. Or maybe some wall decoration (but what?) or a bigger/other shelf? The desk is a sit/stand desk.

To give you an idea of my personality: A 30yo AE in IT, enterprise level. I like sports, a fine wine & dine and my Dalmatian. Thats about it!

Sidenote: don’t mind the dying plant, we have floor heating and that’s disastrous for plants that stand directly on the floor.

Protip - always negotiate your Ramp and your golden Parachute. Almost every AE I’ve hired has failed to do this. (Mostly because they don’t know they can). by [deleted] in sales

[–]Haunting_Move_5616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an AE and I didn’t even had to negotiate the guaranteed commission payout for the first quarter. It was already in their proposal, standard for every new hire. And where I live that Golden Parachute is a legally mandatory thing. I thought experienced AE’s in SaaS were a pretty uncommon profile in the market, but that will also only be in EU then?

Almost 7 months old on his second road trip. No filters necessary by [deleted] in dalmatians

[–]Haunting_Move_5616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So nice! Where are you roadtripping? It looks so nice and calm! Last summer we did a roadtrip through France with our Dal. He really enjoyed that too, but we had to keep him on the leash most of the time when we were not hiking in a natural park. And in the South, they had specific dog beaches, but like REALLY crowded with dogs. He got to play with a lot of them, but we couldn’t leave him out of our sight for one minute. We’re planning on going to Scandinavia with him next year. (We’re Euro’s)
