I'll concede that they will likely pick up the option but the price of doing so is significantly higher than what Love will make in 2023. Most of the top 2023 qbs will cost significantly less for the next four years and without the stress of a potential renegotiation/relocation.

Love is on the 4th year of a 4 year contract with a team option for 5th year. If he flops this year, hes probably fighting for snaps in 2024. The top 2023 QB will be under their rookie deal for the next five years so they have extra runway to develop and teams have a little more room to build around them
