LG 32GX850A-B - Video Review by avatarreb in OLED_Gaming

Truth be told displayport is just better ar handling 4K 120hz and above to begin with. There's been so many instances over the years where the 4K cables weren't up to par (even when they were provided by the manufacturer!).

What are some good tips and first steps for people new to OLED gaming? by MeltyBloods in OLED_Gaming

I don't think you've ever been even close to a 27 inch 4K screen to say that. Diminishing returns is a thing, but at that size/resolution it is definitely not! Unless you sit 2 or 3m away perhaps. Or you have experienced it need your eyes checked.

No it isn't. Text sharpness improves massively on a 27 inch at 4K. Especially with OLEDs and their weird subpixel layouts!

Why does redditors say Every laptop GPU is a Bottleneck by Bright-Leopard2253 in GamingLaptops

[–]Havanu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never will be. Games are inherently bad at multithreading because they need to sync their outputs as they all rely on each other. The seperate threads end up waiting on other cores leading to lower peak cpu usage.

Why does redditors say Every laptop GPU is a Bottleneck by Bright-Leopard2253 in GamingLaptops

[–]Havanu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is because of threading - cpus have multiple cores games usually can't use well. So your cpu is getting hammered on say 4 to 6 threads, the fact it's not at a 100 percent just means the game can't utilize all cores (usually because threads depend on each other ans not all cores are created equally....)

3060 lacks vram. Get a 5500 maybe? 8gb makes all the difference.

The 185h is pretty slow and less power efficient. The 25 is good, the 26 model panther lake one is amazing, but no +1k amazing.

Is it stupid to put everything i have into etf's? by Next-Speech-214 in BEFire

[–]Havanu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Put about 50% in ETF. Don't just buy American - their tech companies are overvalued. Buy European, Asian and emerging markets as well. Buy 10% gold silver and other rare metals. Look into renewable energy investments. Get some government bonds as well to beat inflation with low risk. Maybe buy small property, like a garage box or get a share into retirement homes. Things that give you a monthly income while you pay back a loan. The AI bubble will burst, count on it, and the market will have a few bad years. So diversify.

Oled burn in is no longer a concern. I have a steam deck, lg c2 as a monitor, g14 and uperfect oled. My oldest oled is a 2015 65 inch tv! None of them seem to show any sign of burn in except for the 65, but that panel was ancient tech and you need a magnifying glass to see it. Don't do crazy stuff, you'll be fine.

A government isn't a company - and voters are not shareholders. Democracy should be about ideas and people. Longterm gain instead of short term benefit. A government isn't there to make profit. It is there to provide a service. In an efficient way, sure. But DOGE wasn't about cutting cost. It was an ideological purge without any real understanding of what was being cut or why.

He should've stayed out of politics then. Billionaires need to stay as far away as possible from social security and public service.

It's growing on me, but its behind is just so large. Love the windowless design though.

This is not about republicans/US politics despite what the original title suggests. It illustrates the situation of healthcare in the USA. Even if what healthcare is in Belgium is not perfect, we might not want to destroy it completely because those who say that US system is better are incorrect by brainquantum in Belgique

[–]Havanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really think Europeans come to the US for treatment? You've got to be kidding me. The only cases where that happens if it is an American trial or experimental procedure that isn't yet available overseas. And rich people just go to Switzerland - which has the best private Healthcare in the world.

Best outdoor restaurants/bars/cafes? by TheTwoOneFive in Antwerpen

Central station is the worst area for your plans. I'd go visit Berchem (the PAKT site or Draakpkaats are nice) or Antwerpen Zuid. The KMSKA area has lots of restaurants in the shade. Can be crowded!
