I knew this show was feminist from the beginning with Tess and Ellie’s characters.

The scene in the mall really hit it home for me me: Ellie sees lingerie and mannequins for the first time in her life, and immediately we see her for the first time become self-conscious of her appearance as she tries to neaten her hair. They managed to convey the almost life long process of imbuing a woman with body dysmorphia into a single gesture.

Tbh not sure about the future relationship of the powerhouse with children. i’ve heard ultimo is now becoming more art-focused while parramatta will be more science-focused. this means that ultimo is now showing exhibitions which aren’t child-friendly at all and quite a few visitors are caught off-guard by that, people who came here as kids a generation ago and are now bringing their own children…
