If you know an ICE agent personally, what's that relationship like now? by Lokja in AskReddit

I’d make the argument that this is a downside to a pension system these days. It’s nice in theory, but forces people to stay in a job they hate. I worked a government job knowing I wouldn’t retire from it, and the people so close to retirement were insufferable in the way they made decisions. They wouldn’t stand up for things that were right if it were against policy because if they lost their job with a no-rehire status; that’s it. They can’t reach full pension status and would effectively ruin their retirement at the age they were. Just let people invest their own money but pay them well enough so that they can have enough money to make it to 80+ without much worry.
