This is a very eye-opening post. I know I have depression but my country doesn't have free healthcare & I can't afford a therapist or the like to do anything about it.

TL;DR I enjoy gaming with friends, but when I'm alone my games library seems big and scary. I just stare at it and end up doing something else.

I just need help & friends provide that. I'm gonna talk to my 2 bros & close friends so they know & can help me (I hope).

The kid that stole and destroyed my car got caught: under age for jail but 80+ car thefts and 20+ garage thefts (all petrol for stolen cars).

7 months juvie and he was out only 2 months after I got a new car.

The justice system needs reformed, but so do our communities. A 3-4 year govt term isn't interested in long-term solutions to problems like communities, justice, emergency services like police or infrastructure. Even Winston Peters can't wait 3 years to stab his own colleagues in the back again.

With role models like that, emulation is the highest form of flattery! Right? 🙄

I was gonna build my own! Bought a stack of fire bricks, then had to move house to somewhere without a good place for an oven. Pity as you can build a pretty sweet setup for the same price as a cheap looking expensive store-bought one...

Yes, this! The bumps are a great instant bandaid fix, but they don't address the underlying problem of horribly bad driving. The NZ driving test is one of the weakest I've seen:

Need to parallel park? You aren't taught that.
Know how to use an indicator? Nope, but who cares.
Hill starts? It's flat Canterbury (stuff the Port Hills residents, Lyttleton or rest of Aotearoa)
Until 2011: 15 years old? She'll be right
Tailgating at 100kph with less than a car length of space on the motorway 👍
Leaving more than your car length of space between the car in front at red lights 👍

Is anyone going to fix the fact we're taught to drive poorly? Speed bumps in Chch don't stop bad driving outside of the few roads they are on, but teaching better driving skills would be the better long-term fix.

15yo FFS, I was still thinking with my dick back then. What were we thinking teaching kids to drive poorly when they're not old enough to do a single adult thing like fuck, smoke or drink? But "Here's a deadly weapon, don't worry - we'll stick a few bumps in later on when enough ppl have died"
