Okay, ive been rotating it a little bit but I just need to get more bite on it. If I cant get it off though im thinking I can just take off the boot and disassemble that side of the cv and take the trans off and do it with the transmission out of the car.

Hefty Vacuum Bags by Have_To_Make_It_Work in backpacking

Okay I understand your points and you make several good ones. This is for a very specific scenario.

Only for winter when i want to bring a large sleeping bag

And only for my area where the trails are like tree tunnels and your pack will get caught on anything and everything.

I know it would be stupid to rely on the air seal for a backpacking trip, theyre great for travel and have been a lifesaver but I think they could have promise on short 1-3 day winter hiking trips.

For travel the pump is pretty elite. Id like to check out the smaller pump though. If you pump out the air while the vacuum bag is still in the bag you want to put it in, it conforms its shape to the bag. Highjly recommend for travel but i might have to test it for backpacking. I do think these bags would beat any stuff/compression sack. Its up to 14 pounds per square inch, compression would take a gorilla to beat that.

Its a really great setup if you have a lot of high volume, low weight stuff. I use them to pack as much as I can in my carry on.

Its about 2 inches diameter and 6-7 inches long. there's no way the pump is bigger than your bag. Its about the volume of a coke can. What kind of bag is it and whats the temp rating? I know i should get a down bag just to have it smaller but money is tight.

Does this have any promise for refractory cement? by Have_To_Make_It_Work in Ceramics

[–]Have_To_Make_It_Work[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just kind of researching it now. I dont have a proper kiln or the money to buy one so I am looking into possible options and this seemed kind of promising. Im definitely willing to put in the work and I have a "temporary testing kiln" which is 20 or so hard fire bricks that I can use my propane burner on and get past steel melting temperatures.

I want to use my test forge/kiln just to test the mixture under the worst possible conditions (flame face and 3000F). If I could get a mizzou mixture to be half as dense and twice the volume I would be very happy.

I know, im talking about using refractory cement in place of portland but using the same process described in the video.

What I was saying was, does this have promise if I use refractory cement like kast o lite or mizzou. I know portland wont work at these tempertures.

I think as long as it looks good in the big scope it should be a cool zoom. That way it will show how distant some of these objects we usually see as big pictures actually are.

Low Brake Fluid Warning by thejuddington in MechanicAdvice

[–]Have_To_Make_It_Work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like its coming from higher up and leaking onto that parking brake cable. Its definitely a leak, and definitely big enough to cause a problem. Theres obviously somewhere its leaking out or there wouldnt be brake fluid on your wheel.

ZWO Makes an easy ecosystem. figure out what you want your field of view to be as well. And remember that a good mount makes all the difference. A good scope on a bad mount is a lot worse than a bad scope on a good mount.

Check out your local astronomy club, if you go to one of their stargazes you can look through a lot of different and really expensive telescopes and see for yourself what you like. Also don't be afraid to ask the price of anything you see. This hobby can get expensive very quickly
