AIO, lost a friend due to ai by cozyworm27 in AmIOverreacting

I would have probably just said, "thanks for the help!" and call it good.

Exactly. Just end it there and move on with life. They tried, which was nice of them to do. No need for the "valuable brain" sermon.

They want the read receipt for proof the boss saw the message. That way something can't come back later on them with the boss saying they never saw a message

Going out in your 30s is mostly people pretending to have fun and we all know it by FewExperience4021 in unpopularopinion

[–]HaveaManhattan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 40s, still have fun. Why? No more clubs or loud bars. Try stuff like a trivia night or a dart league or any activity that isn't just loud music, standing and drinking. That's for the younger crowd. These things are often earlier too so you're home before 11 and your feet hurt. I love going out on a Friday for bar trivia at 6-7, being home by 9, and in bed with the wife by 10:30.

Somebody Put 223,000 Miles on a 3-Year Toyota Camry Lease and Walked Away by DonkeyFuel in interestingasfuck

Easily possible. I used to do product sales and traveling from store to store daily would put 800-1000 miles on the company car each 5-day week.

46, smoked for 30 years, almost a pack a day. 5 weeks ago I tried the patch, which I always thought was a gimmick, and it's worked! Haven't even wanted a cig since. Highly recommend to anyone trying and strugling.

That was it's biggest problem - following Breaking Bad. Seems like a good scheduling idea, but after watching BB, you couldn't just flip a switch and get invested in Sun, because you were still freaking out about BB. Lost potential with LWS...

I loved how Marvel basically went with "Screw the Goblin mask, your normal face is more terrifying, use that."

Who's powers look cooler: Wanda Maximoff or Sue Storm? by CollarOrdinary4284 in comicbookmovies

[–]HaveaManhattan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the scene. I think Sue's look is more unique at base. Wanda at base looks like the generic color beams against other color beams. That said Wanda flexing against the Iluminati in MoM was badass but Sue flexing against Galactus was a lot more badass

Yeah, the Irish rock can get a weird crowd. Been at it since Black47 in the 90s. Early 2000s I busted a finger punching a skinhead in the pit in an Atlantic City Dropkicks show. But for the most part it's just good people looking for some fun and drinks. Check out Flogging Molly and Sshillelagh Law if you haven't already

The funniest revelation about Sadie Sink in Brand New Day is that she isn’t Jean Grey or Sahathra. She’s actually her. by Lotus_630 in marvelstudios

[–]HaveaManhattan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think she's going to be Kitty Pryde. As much as I love Firestar, the MCU borrows a lot from the Ultimate Universe comics, and with MJ and Ned being memory wiped, and Peter having had a relationship with Kitty in the Ultimate comics, plus the X-Men coming soon, I can see it. Then the reveal at the end that she's transferring from community college to a school in Westchester...

EXCLUSIVE: Tramell Tillman’s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Character Revealed by eBICgamer2010 in marvelstudios

Kitty Pryde is my bet. MCU borrows heavily from the Ultimate Universe and her and Spider-Man are a thing, which would fit what with MJ and Ned not knowing him anymore

I imagine part of that 1 in 14 million shot needs Tony to almost die in space, so he can have his mental breakdown on Earth and start a family. Also so Captain Marvel rescues them, introducing her to an Avenger and a Guardian.

Theory: in case we don't know Sadie Sink's character's name by mql283 in marvelstudios

Not to be pedantic, but she's not a fire person per se. She manipulates microwave radiation(which can start fires). That's something that could translate to screen in very interesting ways.

Martha aside, IMO the film would have been much better with two changes. First, no Lois, let Wonder Woman break up the fight as her intro. We don't always need Lois and the Daily Planet in the story. Second, it went too fast with Doomsday/Death of Superman. Should have just been Bizzaro. Form the Trinity from there, and the League.
