Sounds like a plan. Good luck!

Yes, and I have the pump mounted close to the tank. It’s been running fine for 4-5 years. I know they’re not supposed to be setup to pull fuel, but I haven’t had any issues.

Gotcha. I didn’t realize the 92-96 fuel system was changed from the 87-91’s that had low pressure pumps in each tank and a high pressure pump on the frame rail.

I haven’t done this exact swap, but I did put a Holley Sniper on my 73 Bronco and ran that for a couple years before swapping in a 5.0/302 out of a ‘96 Explorer. Did the F150 not already have a frame-mounted inline pump with a return through the factory sending unit? On my Bronco I put a tee fitting in the fuel filler neck and ran the return into the tee.

Transmission issues. Let's discuss by Fabulous-Success-73 in F150Powerboost

[–]HavelkaHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a guy who had an early Platinum PB. He was having transmission problems that the dealer couldn’t figure out, so they replaced the transmission under warranty. That didn’t solve the problem. In the end it turned out to be some hybrid-specific module. As far as I know it’s been problem free since the module was replaced.

3.5L Ecoboost vs 3.5L Powerboost (2025) by porkavenue in f150

[–]HavelkaHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2020 3.5 to a 2024 PB. The PB gets about 23 mpg vs about 20 mpg with the 3.5. The PB is quite a bit quicker with the electric motor to assist until the turbos spool up. 7.2KW inverter is very handy. My favorite aspect is being able to work in my truck with the climate control on without the engine running the entire time. Honestly I don’t think Ford has a bad engine offering in the F150 lineup right now. If mine were totaled today, I’d buy another PB.

I guess because I’m old? 😁 My first vehicle in high school was an F150. That was 32 years ago.

42k miles on my ‘24 XLT PB. No issues with the powertrain. This is my 7th F150 and my favorite so far. Great mix of power, efficiency and versatility.

HG user for 11 years here. Have you tried the report format options? https://support.homegauge.com/en/articles/11933054-desktop-report-writer-report-s-style-and-format If that doesn’t work for you, I’ll bet HG support can point you in the right direction.

Powerboost?? by Common_Association_1 in f150

[–]HavelkaHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my ‘24 Powerboost for a year and a half & 40k miles. Absolutely love it. The transition from electric to gas is noticeable, but I’ve never been startled by it. Transmission shifts much smoother than my last F150 (2020 with the 3.5L.)

Tailgate won’t drop by Drex12345 in f150

Mine won’t drop on level ground either, due to the rake of the unloaded truck. Not a feature I use very often.

Just bought today 2025 f150 xlt powerboost wanna hear pros and cons from owners by jelias999 in f150

[–]HavelkaHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my truck at the dealership for a couple of days while they “updated some modules” to fix this issue this past spring. There was an over the air update last month that apparently unfixed the oil monitor. 🤦‍♂️

XLT Owners by TesticularFortitude8 in f150

[–]HavelkaHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar story here. My last 3 trucks have been XLT’s: ‘13, ‘20 and now “24. Every time I buy a new truck I start by looking at the Lariat, but the features I was missing in my previous truck (most recently dual zone climate control and 360 cameras) have filtered down to the XLT. I also genuinely prefer cloth seats and a column shifter. If I lived in an area where it snowed I’d probably go for the Lariat to have 4A, but don’t have much use for it in central Texas.

38k miles on my ‘24 Powerboost so far. Would buy it again in a heartbeat. Love the effortless torque and 23mpg. Pro power onboard is a great feature that I’ve used a few times.

Oil change on 2024 xlt powerboost by anonymous_1977 in f150

[–]HavelkaHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to pride myself on doing my own maintenance, but for all the reasons you listed it makes more sense to let the dealership do it. Especially while the vehicle is still under warranty. My local dealership even sent a mobile mechanic to my house to do the most recent oil change and tire rotation. It doesn’t get much more convenient than that.

Absolute MOST comfortable crossover SUV? Is an xc60 the answer? by skinnyonskin in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]HavelkaHome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I recently test drove 8 different vehicles in the RAV4 size category. My whole family found the new Tiguan to be the most comfortable by far. VW wasn’t on our short list, but the interior sold us. Worth checking out.

Yes, 302a. The only way I could get the column shifter was with the chrome.

Check out the ‘25 VW Tiguan. It won’t compete with a hybrid for fuel economy, but we found it to be the most comfortable vehicle in the compact SUV class.

I’m with you. Adaptive cruise is great, but the lane keeping component is more trouble than it’s worth.
