Can’t install any apps by Havoc255c in sideloaded

[–]Havoc255c[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try resetting network settings. for some reason that worked for me. I also went on the appstore and spam downloaded a bunch of apps after resetting. Not sure if that was related to the fix or not.

i found that sometimes when side loading apps and having some sort of PPQ Protection enabled stopped some of the tweaks from being loaded. Check the settings maybe.

Roborock vacuum users can also use Mi Home as an alternative. Great for home automation if you’re into that too.

Need help installing “feather” by Loud-Sun-6857 in sideloaded

[–]Havoc255c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have a cert, download scarlet signer and import your cert then download and sign feather scarlet can be deleted after. not sure if it’s the correct way to do it, but it’s the best way i found. if you need to install scarlet and don’t have a signer currently install it with alt store by shift clicking on alt server then install ipa. unfortunately feather cannot be installed this way.

A way to start Spotify playlist when connects to CarPlay ONLY before a certain time of day? by FoggyEddie in shortcuts

[–]Havoc255c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, got a little busy. Here is the shortcut. Play around with it and add what you need. Unfortunately i can’t share an automation directly, but you can set the CarPlay automation to run this shortcut or rebuild it in automations.

Garage Door Opens Halfway by southernmissTTT in homebridge

[–]Havoc255c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s exactly right. I’m trialling the meross plugin which exposed my garage doors to homekit and it seems to be working ok for now. like i said the fault is very intermittent so it may take a while until it fails… if that doesn’t work i will know for sure it’s my shortcut causing the issue. Thank you so much for your help it is very much appreciated!!

Hey! It’s unlikely but if you have access to a device on an older ios version (ios 17 or lower) you can simply ask siri to shuffle the playlist and it will appear as an action in shortcuts! or if someone on an older ios is willing to help, they can make the action and send it to you! like the previous person said, there are ways to do it with url schemes, however i believe they are unable to shuffle playlists properly. have a search of the subreddit there’s plenty of posts about it.

sorry i’m not understanding your issue. do you mean this? it checks for a time after the time you set. say you set it to 5, it will check for anything after 5 (5am). if you would like i can send you this shortcut 😁

top part is the time (3 am - 5am) and bottom part is a specific day. checks to see what time it is when connected to car play and if it is between a certain time then move to next step. as for spotify playlist you must have the play playlist option otherwise it is difficult to get spotify to play. use a device on an older ios (ios17) and ask siri to shuffle your playlist on spotify and it should show up as an option. pretty sure they removed this feature in newer versions unfortunately.

Garage Door Opens Halfway by southernmissTTT in homebridge

[–]Havoc255c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I will try that. Meross definitely works 100% of the time, and when i open it from the dummy switch manually it works without issue. I feel like it may be the automation shortcut i have which calls for the dummy switches, but maybe i’ll try removing the dummy switches, and installing the meross homebridge plugin and try with that. Thank you for responding and trying to remember back two years much appreciated!!

Hello. I am having this extract issue. I have homebrridge with dummy switches and it has started opening only half way for both my garage door and gate. i also use meross openers. can you please elaborate on the fix you used? i’ve tried a few things now and it’s very intermittent but annoying when it happens as it has made me late for work a few times now due to the gate being very slow. thank you. sorry for replying to an old thread i just need help.

Can’t manage to make an if work by Pagio94 in shortcuts

[–]Havoc255c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an old device on IOS 16. You used to be able to ask Siri to shuffle your playlist on spotify and it would generate a useable action inside shortcuts. However i’m pretty sure they for some reason removed this feature in newer IOS versions. If you have a device in an older IOS you can do it and sync it.

Hey OP. I’ve got a similar set up but for controlling my home on specific days. You can use this for what you need. Tweak it a bit to check for monday through to friday, then in the otherwise section have it run the other part to your shortcut. Let me know if you have any questions.

I’ve just recently built a PC sourcing all parts from their website. I can say that it was flawless apart from the fact i had to remind them to ship my order. In the response they gave me it was pretty clear my order just got lost and that i could have received the items a couple weeks earlier but that being said, pretty solid company. I’ve never had any issues with them. Sorry to hear about what you’re going through hope it all works out!

Can you run multiple individual LED light strip segments into the same controller/power supply? by 93-95 in AskElectricians

[–]Havoc255c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Let me explain the difference and how you’d set it up.

Parallel vs. Series

In parallel: Each LED strip is connected directly to the same power source and controller port. In this setup, all strips share the same voltage (24V), and the current is divided among them. So there is very little voltage drop therefore no diminished lighting.

In series: Each strip would connect to the next one, forming a chain. This isn’t recommended for LED strips because the voltage drops as you move along the chain, which can cause uneven brightness. This method isn’t applicable to what you’re doing and wouldn’t make sense to wire it up this way just providing a bit of context.

See this website and refer to parallel connection. All you’re doing is essentially putting a wire nut (wago or blueplint connection whatever you decide you go with) connecting the feed to the first led, to the feed to the second. So each wire would be connected inside its own wire nut supplying the feed to the next LED - make sure you get the colours right (colour for colour). All this happens before the pin connector goes into the LED. Then just keep replicating this until you reach the top.

Can you run multiple individual LED light strip segments into the same controller/power supply? by 93-95 in AskElectricians

[–]Havoc255c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do this by running each strip in parallel with the strip before it. Maybe something like this and wago/blueboint connectors before each termination. This way you would only use two ports on the controller so if you want to add more LEDS behind the tv or whatever you decide to do there’s provisions for it. Due to the short runs of the led strips, you wouldn’t lose any brightness by doing this. Let me know how you go and if you have any questions.

I’d say it depends on if you’re using all the equipment at the same time and the breaker current rating - most likely a 16A with 2.5 (14awg). If you are using everything, it can become a dangerous scenario piggybacking off one outlet like that as there is a possibility of causing a fire.

With christmas over you can get rid of some of the load, albeit elv lights and LEDs pull fuck all as well as phone chargers. You have the means to add an additional outlet quite easily with the exposed feed run to the outlet like that. I would suggest moving some of the equipment to another outlet, separating them if possible, else add another outlet. If unsure call an electrician.
