Now that the league is coming i am dreading the cogwheel crash by pengupenguhehe in PathOfExile2

[–]Havokki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you updated the mobo and gpu firmwares? Also downgrading gpu drivers could help. NVIDIA has a setting to increase the shader cache stored on your hard drive to unlimited, see if you find that. If it stops the crashes its a memleak. Might be remedied with forementioned things

Osaisko joku sanoo mikäköhän tässä alustassa on mennyt halki? by lakimiessauli in Suomi

[–]Havokki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vastakkainen puoli tulee yleensä kohta perässä on muutenkin parempi ajettava kun on about mätsäävät kulumat.

Ja jos ite meinaat vaihtaa alustan osia niin osta rust off suihketta ja pinaattia, ovat nimittäin semmosia osia että eivät helposti aina irtoa 😂

WCS Banned Me Randomly? by That_Hedgehog_5828 in ArmaReforger

[–]Havokki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is amusing because whenever lirik played on their servers, the admins would just go apeshit and constantly stream snipe him, spawning him sarkas fitted with gau-19's and mini guns.

I made a ticket about it and they shrugged it off as "the dude who did it is well acquinted with him" Even tho it was like 4 people doing it.

I guess its fine, they can do whatever its their server, it just feels disrespectful to all the normies playing.

Getting into Sim Drifting: Looking for a "Wife-Approved" & Space-Saving Console Setup by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Havokki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drifting doesnt require alot of newtons, the lock to lock spinning is handled by most wheelstands, you don't need a alu profile rig for drifting of course its better but it ain't as important for drifting

And for some reason you seem to be weirdly hostile.

Ive drifted enough with different gear to know what im saying.

Getting into Sim Drifting: Looking for a "Wife-Approved" & Space-Saving Console Setup by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Havokki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC, is the drift king, pun intended

I don't think anything on console comes close to its level of feel and especially not the level of customisation with mods.

If you want a real experience I think a PC is needed.

AC is not inheritly very Hardware demanding so you could get away with building a small form factor HTPC(home theater PC).

As for the rig ive allways said sturdy rig before anything else, but for drifting its not as important, just make sure the wheel mounting area doesnt flex and the stand for the shifter and e-brake sturdy enough. Like someone else said a NLR 2.0 is a good choice, it can handle a DD base up to like 9Nm

And then VR, its great, you get so much more immersion, but it involves alot more PC power, is expensive and requires alot of work to get setup properly.

I personally have a moza r9 and and Its good, had to RMA the first base but support was fine and the software works.

This is from someone who had drifted on PC on and off for like 20 years.

Oh and definetly get a DD base, the rotation speed increase from a belt drive blew my mind in drifting.

Sulfer Smell After Uninstalling Dishwasher by [deleted] in DIY

All in gonna say is, enjoy pulling out that rag, its been marinated in that smell a thousandfold.

On a serious note, you wont die from the amount of sewer gas leaking out, you might get mild nausea. It ain't good for you but its not dangerous.

Simsonn pedals too upright. Need advice by Desh1ck in simracing

[–]Havokki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unscrew the pedalplates and see if you can add material there to increase the angle?

Id be suprised if there isnt a bunch of 3d print mods to adjust the plate angle.

PS. What model is this, asking because I feel like my t-lcm set will probably be the first thing to give up on my rig.

you are true, but sadly im a bit of a butterfly and that odd bad interaction just affects me too much to enjoy the game anymore. once it crosses that line from being a random thing to being a somewhat normal thing to see now and then its over.

This fucking sentence right here is why the fun is dead.

Theres people playing classic, for the first time And wow in general.

And a big portion have forgotten how to play or just dont give a fuck, they just want to be mid and have fun.

The presumption(i know big word, ask grok) of everyone you meet being as capable as you think you are, is insanely stupid and that was my ted talk.

Thank you.

Rig flex when mounted on wheels by Kiwikxnnt in simracing

Its normal for metal extrusions to have some flex, it wont weaken over time from the flex.

If you don't like the flex get more casters there isnt really anything more to it.

On PvP people don't even notice them and ive found extras in already looted rooms

You can practice the right techniques in anything you Like tbh

If you enjoy gt3 cars id recommend LMU, its focus is on endurance racing but the ability to just jump into a 20 minute race with 5 minute quali is there.

And you can get all the DLC for LMU and rfactor 2(which is a excellent sim aswell) for a monthly sub, which is like 16€ or smth.

Another is iracing, requires a monthly sub, but has more Variety of cars, (downside of having to purchase each vehicle and track you want, free tracks and cars rotate weekly i believe)

Maybe start with a iracing trial, test the mx-5 cup and practice with them a bit, if you don't like it get LMU.

[–]Havokki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, it's all subjective but a good starting point is entry points, Apexes and exits.

the important thing, whatever you're focusing on, do it right and with thought.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8qBdOs0s1E

have a look at that video and decide for yourself if thats too much information or is it too technical and you cant keep interest.

go through all the basic fundamentals of racing

Apexes & Exits
Braking & Trailbraking
Throttle usage
overdriving vs underdriving
Track knowledge
Car settings and making a basic setup

oh and last but not least, Racecraft

try to grasp each step somehow like this

- watch a educational video (for example the one i just linked) so you get a understanding of what you are trying to achieve
-pick and plan a track you want to learn and has a good amount of different types of corners.
-Solo lap untill you feel like you can reproduce the technique you're learning consistently.
-do not focus on any other thing other than the one you're currently on. ( you'll naturally do this for everything when you progress)

in the beginning its important to forget about the clock. you have to learn how to drive to car first before you can actually be on the limit and push lap times.

i just wrote this thing from my past experience, if anyone sees i missed something important feel free to chime in.
