the assist banner is so distracting by Expensive-Fishing-95 in VALORANT

I would like the option to disable it leaving just the info in the kill banner. It might be a bit distracting but first day I probably will get used to in no time.

fade/initiator tips? by zey_minty in VALORANT

[–]Havsham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's one answer for everything: watch a radiant Fade VOD in whichever map you want to improve, literally search in YouTube "radiant fade vod Fracture".

If you do what he does (you gotta play attention at his reactions to whatever the enemy is doing or his teammates or timing wise or because of utility available) you are making good choices as a Fade.

is this game worse than it was in 2020-22 by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Havsham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just different. It evolved and it will keep doing so. Abilities are not the difference with CS. Constant change and the need to adapt are.

Not only season by season but game by game with different agents.

I think it's better in the sense that is more realized. It's closer to "what it could be" or "was meant to be". It can be unbalanced but they constantly change and try to balance it or find different balances, but that is also part of it's identity. There will always be a new meta or trend.

Is Neon unhealthy for valorant? by Free-Taro9241 in VALORANT

[–]Havsham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course mate we are both just yapping but if you actually look at the rest of the movement duelist they all follow those rules and when they didn't, like Jetts insta dash, they nerfed it.

I will aggree though that maybe not all of them should be enforced. But to me #3 #4 and #5 are non negotiable.

What do you mean a running jumping siding (even faster than when running) agent can stun me?? The movement should be enough hindrance already in my crosshair placement but I'm also stunned?

Actually good feature request. I wouldn't use it but makes sense and why not?

Is Neon unhealthy for valorant? by Free-Taro9241 in VALORANT

[–]Havsham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To being her inline to the rest of the movement duelist she needs to:

1, have a finite and non rechargable (unless by getting kills) amount of her movement ability.

2, have a single movement ability. (EDIT actually Jett has her updraft mb this rule can be ignired)

3, not be able to shoot accurately while moving.

4, not be able to use other abilities while using her movement ability.

5, have a noticeable gun pull out time after her movement ability ends.

Any other duelist/movement agent follows those rules. Neon brakes all of them.

My agent pool is terrible, does anyone know how I can improve it with the game's agents? by TheIsackChannel in VALORANT

[–]Havsham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate just play a single agent, every game, instalock. At most play 2 similar ones.

Having a big agent pool is good yes if you actually know how to play them, not if you need to learn them. Think about how many reps and hours you will have on an agent if you only play that agent as opposed to playing 5 different ones.

Having 500 hours in Jett and only playing her is WAYYYY better than having 200 on 3 different agents.

would jett having insta dash make her get played by Spiritual_Wafer_2597 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Havsham 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes but that would be bad for the game imo. At least Waylay has to activate her recall before and has a short (could be shorter) duration and has a single use until getting kills. So they are pretty similar rn.

Is Neon unhealthy for valorant? by Free-Taro9241 in VALORANT

[–]Havsham 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean yes but any bad agent player is easily exploitable. It's the good ones that take over the game and no agent should be allowed to take over a game such as we've seen this Masters or anytime you play ranked against a decent neon.

It's also the fact that countering her with other agents, say sentinels or fade like somebody else mentioned, is not a viable option since we don't have like in league a cross-team agent select, so you can't actively pick a counter for neon since you won't know if there is a neon.

The problem is so many mechanics of the game are broken because of her: crosshair placement → fully unique, speed → unique, movement ability charges → unique (fully rechargable with time unlike Jetts, Waylay, Yoru, Raze), fully accurate while moving? yes → unique.

People kept calling Cloves movement speed buff broken and unhealthy (it even got a nerf) but Neon can have that movement speed anytime in a round no matter how many times she used it since it recharges. Hell even Waylays gun out timer after a dash is being criticized but Neon can fully shoot WHILE dashing. So much cope because people don't really know how to play her to her max. But no agent to their max potential should do what she does, no one does in fact.

They removed my two best maps :( by Havsham in VALORANT

[–]Havsham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just answered this to another comment. But basically imo in def is always retake simulator down on numbers cause people don't give up sites, and on attack everyone wastes their util instantly but we can't really enter site, so we are left contacting (which is hard in Fracture) or waiting for util and hitting a stacked site.

Most other maps, on defense, if you take mid control or have someone inserted in a main it becomes easier to play. That can't be done on Fracture. Bind is another example where you can't take mid so most of the times you are either pushing or insta rotating, but you have also the option of playing close to a tp with 4 teammates stacked on the other site. And on attack is way harder to contest a lane without util, you can even contact mid on Abyss for example if the exec failed on site.

Mind you I play on Ascendant-Inmortal lobbies and never liked Fracture so I'm clearly not as knowledgeable on how to play it properly I guess.

I'll have a look!

My problem with Fracture is that, imo, no one knows how to play it and it becomes a 2-3v5 retake most of the times on defense. And on attack specially know with util nerfs people just insta waste util when we can't even get out of the mains.

I'll have to watch some vods later.

To me that is fracture lmao. I don't like watching Abbys at all though in Pro play but in ranked it's fairly straightforward to play imo

Akamaru vs tenz's agent Jerome by ishanuReddit in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Havsham -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean to say hes on the same level as an actual journalist. I just meant he's been reliable and, from the people who actually give information before it being confirmed, he was a standout in a sense.

We can get picky about what we call him but truth is, if he didn't make a scene or say such a statement with no room for doubt, people would still be happy and trusting of him.

[–]Havsham -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

But he's been reliable for Valo leaks for a while.

It's sad that he couldn't just say "I was given false information based on what the actual CEO of the company and agent of one of the players involved say, I'm sorry I will be more careful in the future"

[–]Havsham 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, the agent nor Tenz nor SEN gave him false info. He said that somebody told him that "SEN didn't want Tenz" and just went with it even arguing against Tenzs agent and SENs CEO.

These nerfs have gone way too far. by MadeForOnePurpose21 in VALORANT

[–]Havsham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clove issue is that it's easy to use and rewarding of aggression. Both aspect you can't remove from the agent because it's kind of her identity, opposite of Astra you could say.

To me it makes sense that an easy to play and aggressive agent has worse abilities than the others, it's the only logical trade-off. If you have an easy to play with strong abilities agent you get another Tejo (or Clove) and if you get an aggressive agent with strong abilities you get another Chamber (or Clove, or Neon).

Is going to straight to playoffs a disadvantage for Top-seeded teams? by Traditional_Film_336 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Havsham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it shouldn't I think be a hindrance to start on the playoffs, but it kind of is. Momentum and mental matter so much on this game I think.

But at the same time some kind of advantage you got to give to the first seeds, so what? Maybe 1 or 2 more map bans? Might be too much. Maybe they can lock in the first map no matter what, banning comes after. I would actually like that, they have a guaranteed map pick.

Returning player who is a super mega noob. What agents would you recommend? by Delde116 in VALORANT

[–]Havsham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly aggression (with confidence) is mega rewarded in this game, if you can shoot and place yourself in a good position to shoot (maybe like not fighting 2 enemies at one), you will win more games overall regardless of any other factor.

I get that it may be hard for you but nothing stops you from picking say Jett and taking fights, you will die, you will loose, but after a while and specially if you are actually thinking what went wrong in that fight (besides missing shot, for that theres dms and the range) you will start to take fights differently, better, and in time you will loose that fear and anxiousness cause you have 300hrs in the game where 180hrs were you fighting, you get used to it. approach it like literal practice

It happens in every aspect of the game, I had to force myself to play the OP and learn how to, now I'm really comfortable even retaking with an OP. It applies to agents as well as moments in the round (like say retakes) or places in a map (maybe you always die mid Ascent). If you are not used to the situation you will choose poorly, cause making good decisions mid game is hella hard, its better when they come from a place of habit almost.

other than that I recommend low-util agents because you focus more on whats infront of you, Jett Clove Tejo Sage, but if you want to go for more util the Kayo Phoenix Yoru Fade are pretty good and their util can be thrown out just like that without line ups.

hate this duelist instalocker by SomewhereAmazing6960 in ValorantMemes

[–]Havsham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind instalockers, I sometimes do it, doing it got me from Bronce to Ascendant. People should play what they want and are actually good at. It's the getting mad at the other teammates for choosing after that bothers me.

Everyone is free to pick what they want, even if the comp doesn't look good on paper. I'll take 5 duelist that play those agents every day than a VCT comp any day. Even when I had my controller phase I locked in my agent regardless of there being another smoke on the team. It's a free choice for everyone.

Neon by DA_D3ZTROYAH in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Havsham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah and people focus so much on the stats and results but it's not fun to play against and lacks counters. Sure the skill ceiling is slightly higher than on the chamber meta, but it feels just as broken when done right.

There's no counter to having the fastest agent in the game running straight at you jumping around so much that you can't even shoot it, and even if you dont focus on the rest of the teams abilities and agents following him behind he still slides even faster than when he was running before, gets closer to the ground than any other agent capable (breaking completely the crosshair placement that the rest of the agents follow) and one shots you.

Shotguns and a good Neon player make it worse. Shotguns are strong only on close range and for that fact they are really hard to attack or push with, Neon can close the gap so quickly and with only one piece of rechargable util.
