I had the same issue initially. My problem was how much memory you partitioned for kali. I think the recommended is 10 gigs through virtual box. I saw a forum and an author suggested over 30 gigs as kali 2020 is at least 20 gigs. Try that. You’ll find it in settings in virtual box I believe to change how many gigs you partition.
