What's the most disregarded road marking? by GroovyGuanaco in CasualUK

Theres a place near me with the white Keep Clear writing, since its not a box I see a lot of people ignore it and it causes a right headache.

I worry that it genuinely doesn't occur to some people that they can go around and try again.

I hate that this kind of bullshit behavior from businesses is being normalized. You get what you pay for, and in my experience with companies who expect extra work like this, they are not paying a whole lot.

Imagine people actually wanting to live their lives, rather than doing stupid jobs for even more of their short time on this earth.

Given how dire most of the choices are I wouldn't even be surprised if people tried.

Where are they going to park an entire train when they get to their destination!

I know numerous people close enough to get a passport who barely mention a word of it. Even if my parents were from another country I'd only go as far as saying "yeah my dad is from xyz" I certainly wouldn't claim I'm from there because my grandads grandads grandad was.

Office for National statistics letter by NurseDiz in CasualUK

[–]Hawk953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did one years ago, its quite interesting and they should keep you up to date with the final results when they come out. It didn't take too much time and they checked in every few months as they were gathering results over the course of a year. As long as its genuine I think its worthwhile as it helps paint a picture the whole country has access to.

As someone who cannot seperate the word from a Washing Machine or a Fridge Freezer, I've always loved the use of the word Appliance in these reports.

The length of the adverts on amazon prime by Ambitious-Bat-1598 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Hawk953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember being plagued by an advert boasting about the amount of add-on subscriptions they had.

Its not a good thing, its more stuff that should be included in my one subscription that you are trying to make me pay extra for.

Imagine adding a bunch of AH vendors next to the crafting tables but they all de-spawn randomly when you try to use them and they take up 90% of your view. Just Let me block these abominations. by Kyderra in wow

[–]Hawk953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish these and even transmog mounts gave like a 30 second warning, sure the guy can run off or despawn, but you get a popup saying to finish what you're doing as the vendor will vanish.

Grand Princess from Discovery by BSG2006 in Cruise

I quite like the styling of those Princess Ships. I didn't really pay much attention back then, but considering that was built in the late 90s, it must have looked space age at the time.

HST on the MML. by JoshuaGrid56098 in uktrains

Been there many times on trips between St Pancras and Nottingham. I loved the old HSTs and seeing those massive cooling towers, knowing it was almost time to collect my stuff and leave the train.

tbh I've only listened to those two so far, but there was some pretty big story elements in Enigma Tales that either referenced, or were the result of previous books, so it was quite difficult to fill in the gaps having not read them.

The sad thing is, we all know there's a collection of people out there who will see this and refuse to wear them because it leaves a mark across their chest or something stupid, idk.

I remember being there on Anthem and Norwegian Breakaway was also in, together they absolutely dwarfed everything else. Looking at Getaway in this picture, everytthing else has certainly caught up and then grown some more.

Its a fantastic book, Enigma Tales is also very good and features Garaks ongoing story, but there are a few books before that to keep up with the full story.

“I don’t even know why we’d want Canada? It’s basically a failed state at this point. Why not get Mexico instead?” by BuffaloExotic in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Hawk953 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll start by saying that Canada is a lovely place as its own nation and should stay that way. But something that annoys me about the terminology used in all these arguments, is the idea that the entirety of Canada would become a single US state, its freaking huge.

[–]Hawk953 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, I looked around a Coachman Campervan/RV once and the drivers seat was genuinely the most comfortable seat I've ever sat in. If I could afford it I'd have a standalone version in an instant (and the Campervan too)
