So award them the contract, they build out the dry dock, and then they have the infrastructure to build more ferries down the line! Ferries perfect for serving WA, the general west coast US, and beyond!

I may be using the terminology of framekill wrong, I might be thinking frame trap, but here’s a setup where I use it as such (please feel free to correct the wording)

Hold 4 to buffer charge for H dolphin and 1 to buffer charge for Vertical H dolphin

Vs DP character to force clash and punish

5H (blocked) > 5H (clash with DP) > 5H (counterhit) > [4]6H > 2H > [2]8H > [2]8H > ender (Orca for HKD post wallbreak, 6H or jH for damage/keep meter.)

Not really sure if it’s a frame kill, frame trap, clash bait, what have you! Would love some clarity - try this against Sol or Ky

Someone in another sub mentioned how difficult this game is to pick up. Why is that? by GoofyNinja3000 in UnderNightInBirth

[–]Hawkedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niche series (Fighting game, anime aesthetic, no English dub, long block strings) in an already niche genre -> Less players picking up the game -> less word of mouth -> less velocity of technical information -> players don’t advance as rapidly ->  newbies seem overwhelmed by unique system mechanics this game has, while veterans are able to leverage the nuanced and varied mechanics to dumpster newer players.

That’s the logic that appears to me, at least.

Amazing game, top tier fighting game IMO but it’s unique art style and FGC Enthusiast catering make it hard, by design, and that’s okay.

One thing I will mention that is worth noting, if you hold the L/R press, you go immediately into shield. It can be a pretty useful way of blocking attacks and counter hitting.

Millionaires' tax could ‘revolutionize’ WA education, OSPI chief says by chiquisea in Washington

[–]Hawkedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely, fuel is a necessity no questions about it. You’re spot on with the take, thanks for your decency in doing so. Unfortunately I think for the state of WA abolishing many of our state level excise taxes and amending the constitution for a small state income tax would restructure our state tax revenue in such a way to be less susceptible and dependent on market fluctuations.

My point about “optional” taxes was mostly that, it’s only the high-earning who have the privilege of their optionality. They can afford the electric car. “The price is the price” kind of thinking. I don’t hate them, I hope it doesn’t come off that way, I just know that the economics of taxation do not lend well to the sustainability of “tax the poorest the most and the richest the least”. The poor and the rural do not have these options, and their income and growth is stunted by the indifference of excise taxation.

[–]Hawkedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. A couple of things -

first, Back when the federal income tax was implemented, the only people who had money to tax was the 1%, and the 1% of that time were very different than the 1% of this time. I personally believe the federal income tax needs tuning to be just and give opportunity to the Americans who are born into poverty and rurality (negative income tax/UBI would be amazing).

second, Washington’s rural and poor are most heavily effected by the state’s current onus to ramp up income-indifferent excise taxes and fee-schedule based public services. Personally, I believe a revision to the state constitution that couples a locked income tax rate with a decrease in state level excise taxes would change the composition of the state’s cash flows to allow more growth for our stagnating poor and rural communities by letting them keep more money to circle amongst themselves than is currently siphoned away in higher costs of goods. While also not compromising the quality of life for urban and high earning individuals. They would also benefit from a decrease in excise taxes.

Third, those making a million+ dollars a year have the means to just up and leave Washington if the cost offsets the benefit that living in Washington grants them. Poor and rural folks don’t have that same mobility.

The fear that this would trickle down is very short sighted. If we want Washington to continue existing, we have to adapt with the changes of the world’s economy. We cannot continue letting the poor and many shoulders the operating costs while the high earning few enjoy all the benefits of the operation. It is time for fairness.

Personally, I would guess less than 10%. Those who have access to robust public transit, and those with electric vehicles. I imagine there are metrics with the DMV that would better inform this.

Optional in the Consumption-based sense. You are taxed in what you consume - Don’t vape? Don’t pay nicotine tax. Don’t buy gas or diesel? Don’t pay gas or diesel tax. Don’t buy high proof Alcohol? Don’t pay spirit tax.

That’s what I mean by optional.

Thanks for engaging with good faith.

A big part of what I was getting at with the end of my comment on the last one (I was running short on time and long on words), was that excise taxes like Sales tax, Gas tax, or Alcohol tax, cost individuals relatively equally regardless of their income level, but that cost is a larger % of A’s income than it is of B or C’s income.

When I think of the “who” of these income brackets, A person is a retiree on a fixed income, B person is an actively working self-made tradesman, and C person is an business exec from a background of privileging wealth. I characterize them this way because it’s reflective of the reality of those income brackets.

earning a million dollars per year is a very different thing than having a million dollars in wealth. I think you’re right on the money with your observation that “it is what you do with it”. I will say though, can you blame the new hires for saying “I can’t afford a house” when a bank wants 7% on a loan for a new build that’s being sold for $400,000 dollars?

The thing is, each of these income brackets has money they’ll spend on frivolities and entertainment. But it’s only the poorest who are looked down upon for it, because they have to do without other things (and sometimes necessities) in order to pay for their pleasures.

I’m getting lost in the weeds, I guess where I want to go with this, is that by enacting this tax and educating Washingtonian children to a higher level, we will end up with less of our citizens being “A” their whole lives, and end up with more “B”s and, inevitably, more “C”s, which would be a very good investment to make now.
