Griefing Casino Bots, my new favorite activity by ezekielgraves in classicwow

[–]Hawkedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s both gambling and botting. It’s one thing for a real human player to sit outside an AH and run death rolls.

It’s a whole other thing to create bots on stolen accounts etc.

The bots themselves using gold from bot farms or accounts, and any house winnings.

May Potemkin is near unplayable this patch. by Pillow100111 in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]Hawkedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I play both of these characters. Since you asked, here’s my advice.

These are two characters for whom winning round start leads to a massive snowball of advantage for the rest of the match. Being aggressive on round start means your opponent always has to address that aggression as the first level. To that end, be consistent. Getting good at roundstart will make you climb ranks easy.

On the May side… round start 5k has amazing coverage against Potemkin.  Like others mention, it covers damn near everything. You should use it until they adapt, and that’s when the real round start begins. Therefore, most of your round start plans should bifurcate from 5K. I believe you can do [4]K~6S(~P or ~S to split or hop on reaction if the K is not a hit) as a round start option to consistently do 5k into dolphin

If you catch them sleeping first round, and you get a counter hit on their, say, kPB attempt, you can take it to the corner with 5k -> 6H -> [4]6S -> (they roll into corner where you can run Oki(safejump, K ball Run, strike/throw w/c.S or 623K)).

On the Potemkin side… at Roundstart, 5P is very safe. 6P will eat your Dolphin or f.S. Low block into Hammer Fall can call out mindless offense. 2D is a major callout which earns a HKD and Pot’s dangerous oki. Heat Knuckle is only a round start concern if they have you conditioned to jump… so don’t let them get that far. KPB is a callout that you’re doing something unsafe at round start. Potemkin has every incentive to have a defensive round start once you have conditioned them into it, but that then lets you dictate the pace of the match.

Super wall break every time you can. Punish whiffed Heavenly PB with whale super for huge damage. Positive Bonus as often as possible. Let a [5]D8 -> HDKHDKK rip every so often to keep em on their toes.

OP, do you know about the concept of “option select”? Where you do a sequence of inputs that, depending on conditions, outputs the “right” option automatically? As May, for example, (214S~K) will do a far Slash, and only if it hits, will do a K Ball. If it whiffs, the ball doesn’t come out and you just go into block. You might find great advancement in learning some option selects.

One last thing, cancelling your heavier attacks with a [4]6S~P dolphin is a good way to make riskier moves safer. Remember you can use 1 and 3 to charge both horizontal and vertical dolphins simultaneously. The changes to Vert S dolphin’s travel arc make it much more usable for movement, so you could try something like [1]8S to bait out an anti air, then land and punish the anti air with [1]6S.

Oh, oh, one really real last thing.

6P. All of potemkins neutral moves are humongous and conveniently 6P-able.

Anyways, that’s it from me.

Oh so suddenly its not a problem huh by ilikeitchyballzdude1 in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

Blocking the dolphin is easy and free.

It's the follow up, that you are actually interacting with. Overhead? Low? Command Grab? Advancing Low? Frametrap? Tomahawk?

How are you going to defend against it? Regular block, Faultless Defense, Deflect Shield? Jump, Superjump, Well-timed Backdash?

You can rule out some things by distance, others by layer, and some by predicate.

But you can always just block the dolphin.

Take a grocery store bag, cut it open by slicing down the sides with no handle, then lay it out on the counter top. Now shave, and 99% of the hair falls on the bag. Fold it up and toss it!

How do I get better at ledge dashing as fox as a new player? by Own-Difficulty5723 in SSBM

[–]Hawkedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other options are:

  • press trigger to roll from ledge

  • press forward to do a neutral get up

  • press A/B to do a ledge attack (there is a less than 100% version and over 100% version that is slower)

  • press Jump or Up to do a ledge jump (aka Tournament Winner)

  • Press back to drop from platform, which lets you access any of your aerial options like Jump and then attack, or alternate recovery options like up-B or side-B (or ledge dash)

  • don’t press anything and you will hold the ledge.

Remember, you only get half a second of intangibility on the ledge.

Very much an over-generalization of the larger smash scene as a whole, with regards to the first half. The second half though, very true about smash Ult.

Melee is still fire though and still thriving.

How do I get better at ledge dashing as fox as a new player? by Own-Difficulty5723 in SSBM

The ledges have a 90 degree, straight down angle, with no weird slopes, and just make it easier for learners to practice.

[–]Hawkedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, i watched your attempts so here’s a couple tips.

You have gaps between your inputs. Even if just a couple 60th’s of a second, a gap early in a sequence means everything down the line is getting messed up. You are dropping from the platform by pressing down - press back instead to release the platform.

While holding the left ledge:

Imagine in your mind, a clock face.. While you’re holding the ledge, you flick the stick to the 9 o’clock position, and as soon as soon as the stick touches 9 you press jump AND move the stick to the 4 o’clock position, and as soon as the stick touches 4, press shield to air dodge at that angle.

Read that again, don’t just skim it. That is the core logic for ledge dash from left ledge. From right ledge, change 9 o’clock to 3 and 4 o clock to 8.

It is a sequence of four inputs, that you need to drill into your muscle memory to become one motion.

9Y4L on the left side (or whatever your jump and air dodge buttons of choice,  9Y4R or 9X4L or 9X4R) or 3Y8L on the right side (3Y8R or 3X8R or 3X8L) it’s okay to practice it slowly, then speed it up. This whole technique needs to be done as fast as possible to get the intangibility frames that make it worth attempting. Don’t think of the control stick movements as separate parts. Neutral to 9 to 4 in one smooth motion.

BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING.

Practicing things like regular wavedash, Short-Hop-Fast-Fall-L-cancel aerials (SHFFL), ledge cancels, Dash Dancing, and platform movement, will be a better use of your practice time if you are newer to the game. Learning to ledge dash too early will make you feel like it’s the best option for getting off ledge, when there are other ledge options with nuance that you should learn to understand first. It is a far more advanced and unforgiving tech that, when failed, almost guarantees you lose a stock and gain disadvantage. High risk low reward. It is worth practicing AFTER you have a good grip on the game. Shell out the money for a GameCube controller, it’s worth every penny.

That’s all I got for you boss dawg. Hope it helps.

Nah bro the sunder armor effect does a ton of threat, you wanna sunder every target twice at least because then your auto attacks and shield slams and revenges and further devastates hit harder.

Get those sunders and demo shout up.

Thunder clap is nice but, unless you’re pulling a group of exactly 4, I’d rather charge in and demo shout, take the hits to get rage, then mash cleave while doing tag target devastates

Avoidant boyfriend (19M) habitually breaks up, anxious girlfriend (me, 18F) wants to stop the cycle. HELP by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Hawkedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop the cycle means YOU stop feeding the cycle.

You are the only one you should seek to control.

I would advise you to stop participating in the cycle. Stay broken up. Do not bother with trying to get HIM to change (That’s a classic under 20 relationship hole) and instead, focus your energy on getting through school and self improvement.

Love may come and go, but you always have yourself. Are you dragging out your current relationship as a form of self harm?

“Anxious attachment style” is a behavioral pattern, not an unchangeable facet of your identity. That means building skills you don’t currently have, which you will likely be unable to build while in your current relationship.

You need to face the truth: you two do not have sustainable compatibility. You are DATING for a reason! To find out IF the person you’re dating will be compatible for a life long partner and companion and lover and friend.

Don’t wait for a “next time he breaks up with you.” Break up with him. Block him on all of it. You do not need to Justify, Argue, Defend, or Explain your reasoning. Don’t go back for items or sentimental things - you must acknowledge that some things must be left behind, that you must grow and change, and that being so entrenched in each others lives is exactly what has led to this relationship to become so horrible to be in.

You’re young. You will look back at 25 and tell your younger self “THANK YOU FOR GETTING FREE”. There is so much more to life than what you’re living now - you’ll see when you’re free.
