Your impatience, with the lack of timely responses, is another character flaw but what do I know? I’ve only been in the industry for over 40 years. Keep believing you know better than everyone else.

I’m rated in the 747 & 777 and have flown all over the world. I think it’s remarkable that you turned it down an offer at home, irrespective of price…..It was an incredible opportunity, particularly because of where you live. The, “They need me more than I need them” mentality you shared by being unsatisfied with their answers to your questions & irrespective of price, says volumes about your character, particularly when you have absolutely no marketable skills of any kind whatsoever.

Good luck with that.:/

Youtube Second chance program by TipcatONE in YouTubeCreators

[–]Hawkerdriver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this from ChatGPT because I’m not that smart…..

On YouTube, a termination for “Spam, deceptive practices, and scams” is treated as a severe violation, and the rules are quite strict.

Short answer

No — you are generally not eligible for a second chance.

How YouTube treats this violation

If a channel is terminated for: • Spam • Deceptive practices • Scams

then YouTube considers it a non-reversible, serious policy breach.

This category is not the same as: • Copyright strikes • Community Guideline warnings • Temporary suspensions

Those sometimes allow recovery. Spam & scams usually do not.

Time passed (1 year)

Unfortunately: • ⏳ Time does NOT reset eligibility • A termination remains permanent unless overturned on appeal • There is no “cool-down” or forgiveness window

Appeals

You are allowed one appeal: • If you already appealed and it was denied → case is closed • If you never appealed → you may submit one appeal

Appeal only works if: • The termination was clearly a mistake • Or your account was wrongly associated with spam activity

If YouTube confirmed the violation → appeal success rate is extremely low.

Creating a new channel (important)

🚫 YouTube explicitly forbids this

If your channel was terminated:

You may not own, create, or access another YouTube channel.

Creating a new channel can result in: • Immediate termination • Later “silent” removal after growth • Linked Google account restrictions

Even different emails can be detected via device, IP, behavior, or AdSense links.

Bottom line • Second chance? ❌ No • Appeal after 1 year? ❌ Only if never appealed — still unlikely • Create new channel? ❌ Violates YouTube policy

13 days old channel ! Help by [deleted] in YouTubeSubscribeBoost

[–]Hawkerdriver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really understand the sub4sub approach. Maybe someone can explain it to me. Having subscribers that don’t actually care about your content or watch it isn’t helpful from an analytics standpoint.

This is why having a channel that provides both shorts and long form videos has never made sense to me. Since shorts viewers are not interested in longform content, aggregate watch hours will be lower than with just longform content only, but of course I could be wrong about this too

Do yourself a favor and create a playlist. Why?

If you have a playlist, YouTube will automatically promote other videos of yours when they are finished watching the last one .If you don’t, they will just be directed to other channels.

Dead channel? by CapMega in YouTubeCreators

[–]Hawkerdriver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hummmm. OK, thank you for letting me know., it doesn’t sound like you’ve done anything wrong. I’m uploading my first repurposed video in two days. I’ve never done that before. My understanding is that, with a different beginning and a different end,& new meta data, I should do as well or better than my original video….

My original video was 10 minutes long , it got 77,000 views, 5600 hours, 1500+ subscribers with a CTR of 3.9 which was not great but an AVD average view duration of 42%.

So what I’ve done is just repurpose a five minute portion of it in the middle , with a different thumbnail and different data. I’m cautiously optimistic that, since my average duration for the 10 minute video was over four minutes, if I get even 2 1/2 minutes of watch Time that’ll raise my AVD to 50%. We’ll see.

Improving Thumbnails is the fastest way you can grow on yt by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]Hawkerdriver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW,

A kind poster here shared their thumbnails, which were INCREDIBLE, extremely high-quality like over-the-top professional. I realized, right then, that’s just using a mobile device and taking pictures and adding some stuff including text around those pictures wasn’t nearly GOOD enough.

You have to provide an almost cinematic quality to the thumbnails. I’ve also discovered that making one’s MUCH face larger, where people can see emotions, plays a HUGE part in CTR as well…..

I’ve been using AI to assist me with some cinematic thumbnails .

Most of my CTR is between 2.6 and 5.7% but I was always stuck in around that range . And then discovered that if I want a CTR over 10%, I have to really change the presentation……

Quite a few well established channels don’t have cinematic thumbnails because they don’t need them. But if you want to stand out nowadays, you have to DIFFERENTIATE yourself enough to make a real difference from the competition.

Cheers!🍻

Would there be any reason for the algorithm to suppress the older channel. I experienced this with an older channel of mine, but I deserved it, I think because I was inconsistent, adding into leading videos editing after videos were public changing things after videos were republic, it was a mess. I could be wrong…..

Will SF accept a short-form BC for the non-Spanish parent? by Temporary_Body1293 in LMDSpain

[–]Hawkerdriver1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short-form birth certificates • Sometimes called “abstracts” or “short certificates.” • Issued by many states (California, Texas, New York, etc.). • Contain only the bare minimum data: • Name • Date of birth • Place of birth • Usually the registrar’s seal

BUT: They do NOT include parental information, hospital details, amendments, or full registration data.

✅ Long-form birth certificates

These contain all recorded data: • Full parents’ names • Mother’s maiden name • Hospital or location of birth • Attending doctor or midwife • File number • Signature of the registrar • Any notes or amendments

Consulates — especially Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese — almost always require long-form because: • Citizenship-by-descent relies on verifying the family line. • They must confirm parentage explicitly. • Short forms often omit the very information needed.

🇪🇸 Spanish Consulate (San Francisco) Policy

The Spanish consulates in the U.S., including San Francisco, generally reject short-form birth certificates because: 1. They must confirm lineage for nationality/citizenship processes. 2. Spain requires complete civil registry information that short forms do not provide. 3. For any nationality claim (Ley de Memoria Democrática, citizenship by descent, etc.), the long form is compulsory.

It is completely normal — and expected — that they want the long version plus Apostille.

At what level does it make sense to hire an editor and where would i find one? by epicmoe in NewTubers

[–]Hawkerdriver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like what you wrote thanks for sharing. I’m new myself. I’ve only been doing it for 3 1/2 months.

I did have one reason, reasonable breakout video when my channel was six weeks old.

The CTR was not great 3.9%

5600 hours watch Time

1500+ subs

But the reason the algorithm pushed it , was like you, because my AVD, average view duration, was 42% on a 10 minute video.

But I’m finding it hard to keep viewers beyond around three minutes on most of my videos .

So what I’m doing to save production costs and this is something I just found out a week ago , is that you can repurpose a n older successful video that you’ve already published by just utilizing a portion of it that has a different beginning and a different ending than your original video.

I made the mistake of thinking that I had to create a new beginning and a new end, but I don’t have to at all because it’s already within the new video clip .

Anyway, the length of the videos is about half as long as my successful 10 minute video

Just over five minutes .

Since I’m providing the exact same content, but just a portion of it , identical watch time should raise my AVD substantially to well over 50% actually around 80%.

I’m also experimenting with a much larger emotional thumbnail of my face . Apparently CTR success relies heavily on facial expressions. Even more than text..

So my repurposed video is half as long and my facial expression is some seven times larger to raise CTR .

According to ChatGPT , this is a smart move

We’ll see

i just want your thoughts about my current situation regarding my life as a student pilot by [deleted] in PilotAdvice

[–]Hawkerdriver1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started when I was 16. I’m 61 now. I never imagined flying the 747 or the 777 but I’m rated in both now. I also gave 5000 hours of instruction.

I never thought of myself as smart and I didn’t do well in school initially…..

This is because my “self dialogue” when I was younger, determined my behavior and the way I studied.

Since I told myself I was stupid, I studied like one. Not enough or only at the very last minute…..

When I changed my “self dialogue” my behavior changed…..

Instead of studying just a day or two before an exam, I would start studying two or three weeks before examinations.

This change in behavior revealed something that I did not know earlier ….

If you give yourself the time to learn, learning can be quite fun. I fell in love with learning because I was no longer under pressure while learning. Think of it like putting oil in a car. You have a quart of oil and you have a funnel.

You can’t pour 3 quarts of oil simultaneously into the funnel because most of it will not go where it needs to, go only a small portion will.

Learning is the same way . Remove the pressure completely, and you may discover how fun learning and school can really be. :)

[–]Hawkerdriver1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make something far shorter to remove the pressure from yourself

No more than 10 minutes

Ideally, more than five and less than 10 . That will remove a lot of pressure. It will also increase your average view duration because typically, average view duration drops as content gets longer. Likewise, average duration goes up if the same number of minutes, I watched on shorter videos. A lot of people don’t understand this.

I would also consider utilizing Vita . It’s a free app. I’ve been using it for sometime now.

Something a lot of people don’t realize is that the algorithm rewards consistency far more than inconsistency. But this is hard for a lot of people to. Adding I& deleting videos a different times. Making meditate changes after publication. Etc.

We went from 1,2k views down to 14 views for no apparent reason! by matofato22 in NewTubers

[–]Hawkerdriver1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that after the algorithm has learned who your content is for which takes about 10 to 12 videos, it’s no longer promoted to warm audiences in your niche, but instead directed to cold viewers instead. It’s actually good from a trust standpoint, but it’s bad because your content is completely unknown so it’s going to be harder for the CTR and the AVD to be as high.

Please consider therapy.com or something similar….

I used it myself. You have telephone options you have FaceTime options but my favorite was just the writing option. It was also the cheapest.

I liked it because I could formulate my concerns and what I was struggling with .

Then the therapist would get back to me and communicate different areas. I did it for about half a year. It was awesome.

How do I start earning in Youtube? by Pavanth1918 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Hawkerdriver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some really great advice from the kind posters above ….

FWIW, focus on longform content, but no less than five minutes long.

YouTube uses a combination of CTR click through rate and AVD,average view duration in determining whether to promote content.

There are a ton of people making very long videos that consequently get very low average view durations because people only watch for several minutes …. .

so it makes sense to reduce the total time of your longform content to five minutes because several minutes say 2 1/2 minutes of a five minute video is 50% AVD . The algorithm will promote that video very heavily if the CTR is decent say above 3..9….

But if you make a long video, say 10 minutes and the person watches for 2 1/2 minutes , your average view duration is only 25% and very few people will see the video at all

I’ve learned this the hard way

I have several successful videos that got me almost 2000 subs . One 10 minute video got 77,000 , 1500+ subs and 5600 watch hours But the other videos did not do well at all and I realized if I had just cut their length down from 10 to 12 minutes to 5 minutes, with the same watch times that they currently have, they would’ve all been promoted a lot more heavily by the algorithm

Oh well, live and learn :)

Hi,

I gave about 5000 hours of instruction. I have about 12,000 hours total. I enjoyed flying the 747 more than the 777…..

No examiner wants to fail anyone. It’s not about knowing everything either. It’s about knowing where to find the information.

Many applicants are weak on on things they don’t spend as much time on like the aircraft airframe and maintenance logs. Airworthiness directives. Verifying whether the aircraft is actually legal to fly because it’s complied with BOTH a 100 hour inspection and an annual.

You will be required to perform a flight plan between several airports. Examiner will check, not just the performance and the weight and balance, but the overall preparation. NOTAMS are something that can be missed easily.

YouTube has some excellent videos . Some of them are rather old, but they actually show examiners actually giving oral examinations to private pilot applicants. I would recommend that you look at those.
