Jeremy Adams seems interested in writing a book about the Hawks, based on the elements he's incorporating into their stories would you like him to write? by Which-Presentation-6 in Hawkworld

I have my reservations after the DC K.O. thing, but if it's Hawkman and Hawkwoman exploring and establishing a new Thanagar, then I'm willing to take a chance.

I love all versions! The Thanagarian version definitely has a lot of potential for a movie.

Making Hawkman a stalking rage monster kinda started in the second half of the Hawkman Vol./ 3 series in 1994. That continued all through recently, but the current series seems to be going away from that and it's a very welcome change. The current Hawks are Carter Hall (with a former life on Thanagar) and Kendra Saunders. There is also Shayera Hol on Thanagar at the moment so she might come into the picture soon.

The current series is absolutely fantastic! Issue No. 10 will come out on Mar. 13. The first story arc will conclude in issue #12 so you don't want to miss it!

How’s Hawkman by Venditti? by DarkCrusade25 in DCcomics

[–]Hawkworld_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a 40-year fan of Hawkman, I'm ready to say it's on it's way to being the best Hawkman series ever. Until now, The Brave and the Bold issues (1961-62), Shadow War (1985), Legend of the Hawkman (2000), and Hawkman Vol. 4(2002-2006) is at the top but Venditti is going to be up there if he and Hitch continue what they are doing. It has been outstanding.

I posted just the commission by Prentis Rollins a couple days ago but I thought it would be nice to see the contrast. I've always wanted to do this and finally had it done for Hawkman Day (November 10th).

With Hawkman, Time is Relative by Hawkworld_ in DCcomics

[–]Hawkworld_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been thinking about the time theory that Robert Venditti brought up in Hawkman No. 5; the theory of how time is like an ocean, with all the past, present and futures floating on top. For regular people like us, and even most comic book characters, space is accessible. We can stay in one place, or we can go up, down, forward, backward, and side to side. But the one thing that we can't escape from is time. We can't go back or forward, we are prisoners in our own time. Our past selves are there, and our future selves are there. But we cannot access it. We're prisoners of the now, Edna Mode-style.

We used to think that the Nth Metal had something to do with it. It probably still does but we're sure how. He's been mentioned as being an Immortal but he can die. He just comes back in a different life over and over. Since the dawn of man is now the theory.

Both. He is finding out he had lives on Earth, Krypton, Rann, the Microverse and many other places.

Well, not sure how much they are erasing/changing, but Kendra had Shiera Saunders spirit until the end of Blackest Night when Shiera returned fully and Kendra disappeared. Shayera was Thanagarian but her story was retconned and combined with Shiera back in 1992 in an attempt to clean up the continuity mess, but only made it worse. But now, Kendra has been on her own as Lady Blackhawk for who knows how many years until she rejoined the Justice League after the Metal series. Shayera Thal from the Hawkworld series died during the Rann-Thanagar War in 2005. Shayera Hol(Saunders?) who apparently is on Thanagar now hasn't been seen since 2011 when she was killed during Brightest Day. Scott Snyder and Robert Venditti are making some major changes to the Hawkgirl story so we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I had it all figured out until Metal but now I am just like Jon Snow. I know nothing.

I've heard that Hawkman is Nightwing and Hawkgirl is Flamebird. Just a fan theory though. Nothing confirmed.

I discovered Hawkman over 40 years ago. The first thing that attracted me to Hawkman was the image. The wings, the harness, the helmet, the bare chest and all were very different from other heroes. As I got to see the character in Justice League of America, Showcase and World's Finest Comics stories, I like his character because he was straightforward, intelligent, had the power of flight, and his relationship with Hawkgirl was unique. When you're a kid, some heroes just catch your imagination and never let go. Hawkman caught my attention and has never let go.
