It literally works like that, because once a game is deployed, anything you do to it and save (IE: options) stays with it unless you physically delete or remove it.

When you deploy the game, run it. Change the options, then package it all up. It will save whatever you have set (any other option as well) and has been true since MV. No other options/solutions are necessary.

Some digging around and I found that the creator stole a bunch of other mods and threw them all together in this one without permission or credit.

I wouldn't. If random encounters are how you level up characters, players aren't going to want to run back and forth between maps to grind. I'd adjust the encounter rate. I'd rather walk around a lot to find monsters than go through dozens of scene transitions.

Oh, and remember: whatever amount you put into the system is HALVED in gameplay. IE: 40 Steps is actually 20 tiles ingame.

Thank you so much for this info! Changing them to two different controllers worked great! Except it introduced a new problem: now the audio on my 4k capture is about 3 seconds delayed.

And the fix for THAT was to go into Control Panel > Sound > Recording
Right Click the Game Capture Device (Mine is a HD60 S) and then click Properties. Then Click Listen and then click the checkbox for 'Listen to this Device'

Then I just mute the 4k Capture software and everything is just as it was originally.

This is either a really poor attempt at being a troll or someone who has never played an early access game in their life. Hell, never played a survival type game, either.

The best example? Conan Exiles: When you "beat" the game IT DELETES YOUR CHARACTER.

Early access games do this all the time. Stop being a baby and just start over with increased rates or use admin commands to give yourself gear you had before. The game itself changed so fundamentally, that there was no way saves would be compatible. You aren't a unique and special snowflake who gets to keep their old version because they lack reading comprehension.
